    • Device Works Fine, But Instructions are WRONG. Simultaneously press UP and DOWN to go from C to F
When thermostat controller arrived, it was set to C by default. I wanted temperatures in F, so I followed the instruction included in the package, which state that to change the readout from C to F, long-press the UP button. No mater how long I pressed, that did NOT work. The product description has the same (incorrect) instructions. The video included in the product description shows the user first going into temperature set mode and then doing a long-press on the UP button, so I tried that. It did NOT work. I tried long-pressing the DOWN button instead; still no luck. Finally, I tried a quick simultaneous press on both the UP and the DOWN button. Eureka! Each quick simultaneous UP+DOWN press changes the display back and forth between C and F. Pretty amazing that the instructions in the box, the on-line instructions, and the video instructions are all incorrect. Worried that something else might not work as advertised, I tested both the functioning of the power switch and the accuracy of the temperature reading. Both work just fine. ... show more

Using to control power to three 20 watt seed mats with 3 plastic seed starting trays & covers. Put folded towels around perimeter to insulate outer compartments. Buried temp sensor in center compartment of center tray. Set controller to 87.0F. Power went off at 87.0F. Power back on at 86.0F. Actual temp cycle observed on display was 85.6 to 87.0F after settling into the cycle overnight. Temp probe agrees with my IR thermometer within 3 degrees, but one reading is surface of starting mix and the other is under the surface so probably closer. Seems like a very good product!! I use these to control heat mats for Ball Pythons. These work extremely well. Their price point is amazing! I used to build single temp controllers building Inkbird ITC-1000 TEMPERATURE controllers. For single use, THESE are the way to go! No building, no wiring, just plug and play! For a snake rack with multiple heat mats I will still build temp controllers utilizing the INKBIRD ITC-1000 as you can minimize the amount of cords and use one single power cord. ... show more

Working great so far for the 2 months it's been in use. Sometimes it drops slightly below the set temperature before it will start heating, but it's less than one degree so it's not a problem to me. The temperature seems to be accurate, though because the sensor is metal I have to be careful it isn't touching substrate or something that will make it seem like the temperature is different to what it is. ... show more

    • Works well, right up until it doesn't
About 15 months after buying this thing, it stopped working- temp would read fine, it would turn on the HEATING light, but the plug wouldn't come on. A quick probe with a multimeter showed that the neutral wire had gone dead- no connectivity back through to the wall. Hot was coming in, and was still reading 120V to the ground pin, but hot to neutral read zero. Cracked it open and it appears that part of trace for the neutral pin had corroded away enough to finally break continuity. This despite being in an indoors environment at very stable temperature and humidity for the entire time I have used it. I suppose you get what you pay for with these things, but this kind of failure seems like it should have been avoidable. ... show more
