Here is my review of the VivoHome 2-pack, Galvanized Stair Rails. Never thought I would reach the age when stair rails were a must, but here I am. I'm thrilled that I came across this set of Handrails. They were easy to assemble and install. We needed one on a step in front of the house and one in the back, so these were perfect for that. Very sturdy, made of galvanized steel, the design is pleasant to look at. But best of all, it can do its job. I no longer have to worry about my knee giving out and falling. They are black matte, but they also come in white. I feel safe using this handrail; it's the perfect height. Once installed, you don't feel any movement of the railing at all when you grab onto it. I feel much safer having these in place, that is for sure! Great product, great price, great deal!

September 8, 2025 Easy to assemble. Good looking powder coating. 1.6 inch diameter handrails are easier to grip than larger diameter handrails. Sturdy. Attractive price for a pair of matching rails. All hardware and tools needed to assemble the handrails to the vertical supports are included, plus a few extra pieces, which were appreciated. Hardware to mount the rails to wood and concrete surfaces is also included, but may not meet the requirements for every installation; we needed longer wood screws to penetrate through soft synthetic wood to reach solid wood underneath; not a problem. Good assembly instructions; following suggested order of assembly is important. One thought: The head of each machine screw, which secures the welded loop on the handrail to the small fixture on top of the vertical support, must pass THROUGH the large hole to reach the smaller threaded hole on the opposite side of that fixture, and will do so even though the clearance is close. Attaching that screw to the supplied hex tool, before inserting it into the large hole, helps to control its angle of entry and position.

I was actually very surprised with the quality of these handrails. Quick shipping, easy to put together, and appear to be pretty sturdy. They even included the concrete drill bit which was a nice surprise. I would definitely order these again if the need ever arises.

I purchased this for outdoor use as I can no longer scramble up and down the retaining wall as I used to. I knew I was going to have to modify the design to work in my garden. Unfortunately, I couldn't slip the vertical piece over a stake or rebar as I had planned as the bottom was solid. I used 8" tent stakes, but it still wobbles some and does not provide the stable support I had expected for safety. The manufacturer did provide screws for wood and cement anchors for concrete. Even a drill bit to drill into concrete if necessary. Maybe it would have been more stable had I installed it on the material intended. My other complaint/concern is the open hole that allows the horizontal pieces to attach at a flexible angle (see picture). With a solid base and no provision for drainage, I'm concerned that the accumulation of water will lead to a rusty bottom over time. It was very easy to assemble. It has a nice powder coat and looks nice in my garden, though I may paint it a dark green someday. For double handrails I though this was good value for the money.
