Just what I needed for my portable extra screen. The screen didn't have a mount so this worked perfectly with the Vivo arm to mount the screen on the wall for my couch desk. The mount was easy to install and the screen doesn't move around. The clamp holds well.

As far as I know, this is the only readily available VESA mount for portable monitors. In my search across retail websites I couldn't find another at the time I purchased this. I have several VIVO items in my home (TV mounts and stands) and while none are incredible quality they have always done thier jobs as expected. So far, this item is no different. This monitor mount is made mostly out of plastic (the arms and clamp mechanism are plastic). The only metal is a thin sheet that wraps around the back of the plactic clamp. This is where your adjustment screws and your VESA mount would marry with the clamp so adding metal there was a good decision on VIVO's part. The little feet that hold your monitor are padded so there isn't much worry about this clamp scratching the surface of your monitor bezels. The weight limit is 5.5lbs according to the manual that came with the mount. I am using this clamp with a Lepow portable monitor. The face of my monitor measures just shy of 9" tall. This VIVO clamp opens just enough to fit this monitor. If you have a monitor that measures 10" tall I don't think this would work for you. My monitor came with a built in stand....I had to remove the stand from the monitor before installing it in this mount in order to keep the monitor's ports accessible. I wanted to mention this in case anyone else had the same monitor. Basically this mount is like a bigger version of a clamping tablet holder. Tension from the clamp is what is holding your monitor in place. There are a couple of thumb screws that you can tighten down on the back of the mount to further secure your monitor in the mount. Be careful to not pull on the edges of your monitor when using this, though. I was attempting to adjust my screen to avoid some glare when I almost pulled the monitor out of the mount on accident. Pulling forward on the corners of your monitor will pop it out of this mount. When adjusting the angle of your screen, adjust it by moving your monitor arm directly instead. I have turned my monitor vertically and this mount held it just fine in that position, also. Overall, this is doing a good job of holding my portable monitor. I would recommend it. I just wish the whole unit was metal instead of mostly plastic. ... show more

I have this mounted to some random generic arm. I bought a 15.5 inch monitor of Amazon for a Black Friday deal and decided to hang it in my van on the wall that I built. Even though it's been hanging up there for about 5 months it hasn't failed yet It was super easy to put together it's spring loaded and it will fit just about any type of portable monitor I would imagine depending on the how deep the monitor is mine fits in there very nicely plenty of access for my cables on the side. Seems very sturdy and well built hopefully it doesn't malfunction or break but if it does I'll definitely order another one. The testimony to the quality of build on this is that it is withstanding van life throughout the winter months. Being driven down the road or speed bumps potholes rough terrain whatever, it's holding my monitor on the wall without any issue. And it hasn't rusted either. ... show more

    • Some design flaws but it works

The thumbscrews for the top clamp is a mistake. Double spring mounts work much better. With this I can't mount my S8 Ultra secure enough. In landscape i could easily pull out my tablet. While in portrait mode, the tablet slides on a nudge. Really not a fan of how the clamps look either, the prongs point out too much and are visually distracting in my opinion. ... show more

    • Almost too big for my 15.6 Portable
Size: up to 15.6" monitors + VESA mount
Works great if your size fits, so take some measurements. My 15.6 portable that had a slim bezel was too small to "grab" as only 1/2 the arms are spring restrained. So the minimum size is dictated by the spring side that holds it. My larger bezel fit barely enough to be "grabbed" but worked. If there was a way to latch or make the arms smaller on one size this would easily fit larger and smaller things (phones, tablets, and portable. I hope someone corrects me, because there should be a catch to the non spring arm as 15 inches is supposed to be the high size. Worked for me, but caution to my tablet crew, those are smaller than mine and this would not hold them in portrait. Again I could have a defective latch as it seems silly the free arm can't lock to smaller sizes, but bonus is this holds my 17" portable monitor PERFECT. Bends and moves great. Paired mine with a cheap gas spring monitor arm and its deluxe. ... show more
