  • Good Quality Single Mount, Few Notes
Size: 10.5" Arm
Used these for a pair of 27" monitors to go on either side of a center display for a AMD Eyefinity setup. The quality of the posts and base are good, as well as the mounting hardware. The requirement to manually stick the rubber feet onto the base of the unit feels like an afterthought, but I suppose it allows for some flexibility with certain applications. I built a custom oak ply desk with a monitor shelf years ago, but I've since upgraded to monitors with bigger stands and all 3 of them wouldn't fit next to eachother. These desk mounts allowed me to confidently add the larger monitors on either side, and the integrated cable management helped to keeps things on the neater side. Easy enough to install with minimal tweaking but I'd recommend using a good set of hex wrenches instead of the ones that are included with these. The VESA plates that mount onto the back of a display seem well made and there's plenty of flexibility in where you can mount. It would have been nice to have some padding for the underside of the clamp, though not necessary. ... show more

  • just what I needed
Size: 10.5" Arm
I wanted to get rid of the stock monitor mount to free up desk space. This mount fit the bill to perfection

  • Finally an arm that works
Size: 27.5" Arm
I searched around for arms for a long time and bought multiple models and this was the only one that worked for me. my desk backs up directly to a wall meaning I could not use the arms that have the gas strut in them because they require a lot of space behind the desk. I also tried another vivo arm that showed up in my searching, it used rectangular arms and had 2 segments and the problem I had with it is that because of the way the arms attach to each other the mount has to be off-center as they cannot fold close enough to each other to center the mount. this is the first mount that I have found that is able to fold up very close to the mount and the wall as well as articulate out far enough to use my racing sim. now my setup did require that I take out a segment so I am only using 2 but this also reduces the sag that some people talk about having. also for reference my monitor is 34in and weighs in somewhere near 17lbs. As for styling this mount also provides the clean look I was going for, I hate the number of arms with these big bulky ugly bases, almost non of them look good and now I would not say that this one is the best but it does do the job for me without being un-appealing. another thing to consider for anyone looking at this or the other vivo I was talking about earlier is that this vivo has a slightly larger base plate, and the bolts are bigger, this means less wobble overall. the arm segments are also larger. taking all of this into account if you were to only use 2 segments like I did, I believe that this arm can most likely hold at least the same amount of weight as the vivo with rectangular arms which is 22lbs instead of the 17lbs which this is rated for. ... show more

  • Very sturdy and effective
Size: 27.5" Arm
This support is really nice: solid and easy to use. That being said, the support is only as good as the mounting which depends on care/proficiency of the person installing it. I did a fixed/screwed mount and it works superbly.

  • Simple Solutions Often Work Best
Size: 10.5" Arm
I've used many types of monitor stands over the years to try to achieve an ergonomic and attractive multiple display set up at my workstation. I've found that the sexier and more complex ones have generally been the biggest disappointments, and the simplest ones (where they at least fulfill the basic need of the moment) have been the most satisfying. These VIVO Single Monitor stands are a great example. I bought two of them. One of them is supporting a 28" landscape oriented monitor and the other a 23" portrait oriented monitor, these side-by-side. (Initial review was for the shorter stands) The stands are rock solid - what very little wobble I get with my monitors is definitely the result of having clamped these puppies to a 3/4" board that I use as my desk. The wobble gets transferred to the monitor - I am certain that these would be rock solid if clamped to a more rigid surface. So, be aware: only as solid as the surface you attach them to. The hardware itself is very beefy. The clamp to attach it to the desktop is larger and better made than I expected. As someone said in another review, these would definitely support a slightly larger monitor than the 27 inches specified. The most immediate limit is that a larger one will not sit high enough off of the desktop. If you decide to test the limits by using these with an oversized monitor, definitely buy the taller version. And, of course, the monitor must work with a 75 mm or 100 mm attachment plate. By the way, this comes with two different sized sets of screws for attachment - you are probably covered if none came with the monitor. My bigger monitor has the VESA mount holes positioned real high on the back of the cabinet. Therefore it hangs lower than I'd like. So, be aware that VIVO offers these stands in a taller version and make sure to order the one that it the right height. These are so good I am going to order a third one, but the taller version. I'll find a use for the regular height one. One thing I am impressed with: the few parts that can be moved and adjusted do so without an unreasonable amount of force, and yet they stay put without sagging under weight. You can tweak the friction to a happy medium where there is reasonable resistance to adjustment but adequate resistance to unwanted movement. That has been lacking in nearly every solution I have used until now - I normally end up having to over tighten these things. I paid significantly less than $40 for these and they work better than products that have cost me $140. Forget fancy two and three display stands - get two or three of these simple stands and mount them side-by-side. You'll save a few bucks and a lot of hassle. (Additional Info - I was so happy with the short stands, I purchased the extra tall stand as well. Construction is slightly different, but understandably a little heavier yet since it is taller. Heavier in the way that the pole attaches to the base. The taller stand has the longer arm - I did not have this on the short stands. I am absolutely happy with all three stands so far. Excellent products, shipped and received very very quickly. This vendor goes on my A list of first places to check for similar products.) ... show more

  • Secure, no sag, stays in place, easy to reposition
Size: 27.5" Arm
Installed on a side table. Due to the frame of table, the clamp could not mount securely. Simple modification - placed a block of wood on top and bottom of the table where the clamp attached. Works great, very secure. Supports 36" monitor with no sag, arm swings smoothly, it is easy to reposition and it stays in place without locking. Works great when a second screen is needed for laptop work, easy to push aside and out of the way when finished. ... show more
