This very well may be the greatest thing I've purchased for my home office. It comes with two ways to connect to the desk, and three vertical poles to mount the arm to. When I installed mine, I only used two of the verticals, as I have a sit/stand desk. To do this, I simply left the center pole out. This will greatly reduce the amount of time I will be looking down at my desk instead of across the desk to my screen, and hopefully my need for neck surgery. I did have a problem installing this mount though.It was less to do with the mount, as it was the design of my desk. The frame of my desk is too thin for the bottom of the mount to hold onto. To solve this, I simply put a 4x4x4 chunk of wood under the desk. Overall, I'm quite pleased as the stand is well made. The steel is solid, the mount doesn't move now that my screen is mounted, I can move it up or down if I so desire with very little effort, and there is a holster on the vertical poles to hold the tools; hopefully I don't lose them. ... show more

    • Very nice monitor stand
This VIVO monitor stand is very nice. It only takes a few minutes to assemble. It bolts very securely to the desktop with felt pads to keep from scratching your desk. And comes with all of the parts and tools you need, except for maybe a philips screwdriver depending on which bolts your monitor needs. One thing I particularly like about VIVO stands is that their parts are interchangeable and readily available. For this stand, I was able to buy a second single-monitor arm and place a second monitor on this same pole at a different height and angle with more flexible options than just buying their two-arm stand where both monitors are at the same height. Or, you could even get the two-arm bracket and combine it with the one-monitor arm on this stand and mount three monitors on this pole. This mounting system is plenty heavy-duty to support them. Unless you are wanting to mount this in an area with confined height, I recommend getting this extra long pole over the shorter pole version to give you more assembly options. This pole comes in three pieces with thread-together ends and set-screws to hold them together. The very top isn't threaded and the bottom is specially designed for the mounting base, but you could thread just the top and bottom poles together to shorten it a bit if needed. I didn't use this product in a normal application. Instead, I ceiling mounted it (drilled into studs) and mounted ultrawide monitors vertically. Worked perfectly. Nice sturdy metal item. The only thing I would suggest is for VIVO to create open holes toward the top and bottom (and possibly the middle) of the poll to run HDMI (and power, possibly other cables) through so as to hide them. Other mounts (projector mounts, other monitor mounts) do this. Instead VIVO uses these little clips (which are plastic and can snap and break by the way) to hold these cables on the outside. Minus 1 star for that. If you gave us holes to run cables through, your plastic clips might be needed for some users (I wouldn't have used them)... I also used this product... "Echogear in-Wall Cable Management Kit - Cable Hider Conceals Low Voltage Cords - Includes 2 Pass Through Grommets, Locking Brackets, and Hole Saw Drill Attachment" ...to form a circle / grommet / gasket (basically a "trim" around the Vivo poll in my ceiling tile). So far so good. I installed two 34" ultra widescreen monitors (~17-18lb each). That's a 27" iMac in the photos next to them for perspective. I had issues with the LG monitors though and will be returning them, most likely replace with same size but Alienware. But that's not relevant to this review. All of the mount hardware is very sturdy metal. Thick, heavy. I purchased it with the extra length (39") pole so I could get two really big monitors. I was worried that normal stand or clamp pressure mounting wouldn't work. From reading other reviews I deduced that the hardware was solid, so it should be able to handle more than it was being advertised for. Each arm was sufficiently rated. So I figured the vertical loads would be fine, the problem if any would be the lever loads. I probably went overboard, but to overcome any potential problems, I fastened the mount both top and bottom. I drilled a hole in the desk for the grommet mount. This is a very stout bolt with thick metal hardware on both sides. Frankly it probably could handle the load all on its own. Lever forces can multiple quickly though. So I also mounted it at the top end of the pole by using a pipe strap and self tapping screws. My desk happens to be a lab bench with shelving. So I adjusted the shelving height to match the 39" length of the pole fastened them together. Handles the load easily, very sturdy. I've seen some reviews complaining about the arms falling down because they don't clamp to the pole tightly. I have not had this experience. The clamps on the arm are extremely thick metal. You gotta use your muscles and tighten those things. Once tight, I can't imagine that coming loose. And, if it did turn out to be a problem, an easy solution would be a self tapping screw. The metal on the pole and arm clamps is really thick. Would be totally safe to add a self tapping screw to keep it from sliding down. ... show more
