Initial review. Been put together for about 4 hours. If you can read instructions and operate a screwdriver, you can put this desk together. You need an extra pair of hands to flip it because you put it together upside down, but other than that one person can assemble it. The height adjustment is really easy to use. I absolutely love this desk. The assembly was rough, but it was worth it. I don't use the up and down function a lot, but it seems to work very well. This is very sturdy. I have a heavy monitor, heavy monitor arm, heavy laptop arm, laptop and cable tray with large power strip all attached to the shorter side. The all white version is a very clean look and really makes the room look bigger than the black desk it replaced, even though that desk was actually smaller. The amount of desk space is a nice upgrade for me. If you like to have the front of your arms rest on the desk while you type there's plenty of space, and the adjustable height means you can get it at the perfect level for ergonomic comfort. The directions for this aren't as helpful as I would have liked. I thought it seemed straightforward at first but we got stuck on how to move forward at one point. Once I realized there's an assembly video online, that was very helpful. We were able to finish up fairly quickly after that but had to keep pausing and replaying parts of the video. It would have been much more helpful to have the person in the video explaining what they were doing while you watch. I looked at the instructions before I bought this. It doesn't say it, but most of the holes you need on the bottom are not pre-drilled. It says you only need a screwdriver, but we couldn't get in the screws that didn't have holes for them. I don't have a drill, so we used a sharp ice-pick type tool with a hammer to put in holes where we needed to put the screws into. This worked out fine, but I don't know what I would've done if it hadn't. I'm sure some people could do this assembly without help with no problem, but I think it would take a good chunk of time. Even with two people, because of the issues following the directions, I think it took us about four hours. I never expected to spend that much time on it. I had a friend helping me. I'm disabled and there were some things I knew I wouldn't be able to do on my own, though I could do some of it without help. You will probably need help to assemble this if you can't spend much time crouching or on your knees, can't look up from underneath the desk while crouching or laying on the floor, or can't lift more than 30 or so pounds. Because of how big it is I also needed help to move it exactly where I wanted when we were done. Overall I'm really happy with the purchase.     • Very good desk, don’t be deterred by assembly

I ordered the 75x63 with the black finish and I assembled the “extended left” configuration. To make it clear, you can choose which side of the “L” will be longer. Great for taller folks, I’m 6’2” and the max height is perfect for standing comfortably. It’s fairly sturdy in lower positions, but becomes a bit wobbly when raised. This may be partially due to how I have it set up on a carpeted floor. A hard floor could be better for sturdiness. I saw some other people complaining about the difficulty of assembly, but I found it fairly easy. I assembled it by myself and it took about two hours in total. I’ve assembled more frustrating Ikea furniture, honestly. It required some elbow grease, but it wasn’t insurmountable or anything. Some other reviews said they had to drill their own holes (i.e. the pilot holes didn’t fit their configuration) but I didn’t have any troubles with that. I would definitely recommend using a power drill though, it will save your wrist some pain and make the joins stronger. Overall it’s good. My biggest complaint is that it can be a little wobbly when raised, but that’s only noticeable when typing vigorously or hand writing. ... show more
