Vivo is a good brand and I went with their adjustable desk legs in the end. First I tried this adjustable desk top, thinking it would be good for a walkingpad desk. My main goals were: not replace my existing desk, and have something I can sometimes store away (because the look of the extended desk isn't so aesthetic.) I also have a small desk area so I didn't want an oversize full desk replacement like many of the adjustable desks. Thoughts on this desk extender: it's very sturdy and heavy, and would hold your monitor, laptop, and other gear easily. Measure your space because this is quite large! It was even larger than my slim desk. I cannot imagine collapsing it and storing it away - this is going to be a permanent part of your desk situation, likely. Instead I recommend the Vivo adjustable desk legs and add your own desk top. It's not much more expensive and much more pleasing and adjustable. I'm 100% happy I went with the Vivo leg set and returned this one. ... show more

The instructions that come with this aren't clear enough regarding how to adjust it. The video isn't much help either. It's hard to explain (perhaps that's why the manufacturer doesn't explain it in full), so I apologize for not doing so to make it easier for anyone seeking answers. It's a challenge to go from lowest point to any height between totally collapsed and fully extended. Be sure to put your weight on it, or it will spring up and bite you in the face (the springs are *powerful*) as you adjust it. It doesn't lie flush with the desktop, so when you're sitting, your keyboard will be higher than it was without the riser. Leave the hex key in the lock if, like me, you're not 7 feet tall need the height between and plan to switch from sitting to standing several times a day. All said, I do think it will be worth the hassle, as I've been working from home for 6 months with no return to office in sight, and my back misses the more expensive, higher-quality (employer paid for) sit-stand converter at the office. A plus: it comes fully assembled. All said, I think it will be worth the $90 price tag, considering these things can cost much more (as in, you can put a down payment on a car for the price). Good luck! Update: You’ll need something, such as a block of wood (or cut a piece off the foam packaging; I can’t believe anyone still uses unrecyclable foam), to wedge under the desk to keep it from collapsing. There’s a stopper to keep you from pulling it up too high, but nothing to keep it from falling. Update: I’ve added a photo to clarify my previous update. The stopper outlined in red prevents you from pulling the desk up too high once you’ve found your desired height, but there needs to be as stopper to the left of that, to prevent it from dropping down (see red circle and arrow). Like I said in my previous update, you’ll need to wedge something under it to keep it from falling [or only have a light laptop on it; I have (employer supplied equipment) a large laptop and a 27” external monitor (elevated to the ergonomically correct height with a large book, which I have to remove when I sit) as well as keyboard and mouse]. ... show more

I have my monitor, monitor stand, keyboard and other office supplies all sitting on it and it stays up with no problem. Fully assembled out of the box. To keep the raiser from falling down, there's a small latch that you have to flip to the hold position at the bottom of the X, but unfortunately this small but important latch is a complete garbage. Mine cannot hold down and keeps flipping up and out of position causing the raiser to fall under even the lightest pressure. So I had to fix it, using some additional washers to keep the latch in the correct position to latch on. Even with my fix, it it not at all stable. The second thing to keep in my, because of the X design, the riser needs to reach a certain height to be stable. If you keep it too low, it will easily fall down. I have 2 pretty heavy screen on it so did not have issue with it springing up. Anyways, for the price I think it's worth what you paid for. I purchased it opened-box, hence the latching issue might be one odd that causes the previous owner to give up. I hope you have better luck though. ... show more

I wanted to try a standing desk to try and be more health minded. I am retired and cannot work with advanced arthritis so my exercise choices are limited. I figured if I could alternate between sitting and standing it would help with the weight creep. This was a great option and I am very pleased with the design, look, and quality so far. This was a great purchase! Very sturdy product, adjusted very easily, height is good and still had more to go but I'm average height so I didn't need it to be at its highest setting. I can go from standing to sitting very easily and visa versa. Loving this product. The price wasn't as high as other products and it gets the job done. Big enough for essential items that need to go up and done with me. Fit the monitor, laptop, keyboard and mouse with room to still write on a notebook if I need to take notes. I thought I'd be like pulling levers and stuff to raise it up and down. Nope! Just easy lift or push down and it raises and lowers no problem. Virtually no set-up.
