I recently had bunion surgery and was searching for the best option for a cast/boot cover for showering. After looking at many options, I selected this one and couldn't be pleased. The plastic is very thick so it is very sturdy. I had to "walk" to the shower with my booted foot and no tearing on the bottom. It is easy to hang to dry and reuse the next day. The rubber opening is sturdy, but I could stretch it over my boot without assistance. If your cast is very large, past the knee - you might need help to pull it on. I have a sensitivity to rubber/latex and the opening never irritated my skin. The actual opening pulled over my boot (18" circumference in widest part) relatively easily. I only needed it for ankle and below, but needed to pull it to mid-calf for a good seal (approximately 14" circumference) because it was too loose to leave at my ankle. This wasn't a problem, I just mention it as an FYI. The cover never leaked so my foot was dry after every shower - using either sitting on a stool or standing. I was also surprised that the product came with a card to register for a warranty ( 1 year, I think). This was super easy - just enter the Amazon order number and a few details and all set.

This really came in handy post-meniscus surgery. Per my doctor's orders, I was finally able to take a shower 48 hours after my knee surgery but must keep my operated knee dry. Because of the tight rubber opening at the top, this cover will not fit if you have a heavy cast or brace. I had to remove my full knee brace in order to fit my knee. I found it easiest to put on while sitting and propping up my injured leg on a stool. Similar to how you would put on socks, you would roll the leg cover all the way down and slowly insert your foot from the bottom & pull up the cover until it reaches to your upper thigh. Make sure the rubber opening is flat and is tight around your thigh. The rubber grip on the sole is good for preventing slippage but you still have to be careful in walking to the shower. I've used this twice a day for 5 days and it really is waterproof. No drop of water ever entered inside the cover! I highly recommend this for anyone for covering from surgery and wants to keep their wound dry and intact while bathing.

I recently had my 2nd foot surgery to correct my first foot surgery, (seriously my 1st surgery was horrific) interview and research surgeons. The showering and NOT getting my dressing wet, was very worrisome for me. And I tried quite a few, yes even putting a towel around my foot and taping that, then covering with a garbage bag and taping the set up very securely. I realize that is the majority of orthopedic surgeons' recommendation...there was so much tape, it took me awhile to get all the baggage off. I bought this one and it's so easy, it's truly waterproof. It goes on the leg easily and easily take it off. Thank you Vive, for the best cast cover. Don't buy anything else and waste your money.

First off, it looks longer in the photo than received. It did not come up over my soft cast (knee immobilizer), so we had to cut out the foot and pull it above my ankle. This was fine for me, because our small, square shower forced me to stick my leg out of the shower with it propped up on a cushion in a chair. However, when we got it above the cast and released the tension on the rubber collar, I felt like my leg was being strangled to death!! Waaaaaaay too tight, on this 5'4" 105 lb. woman with skinny legs! I was in such extreme distress that I screamed to my husband to just slit the hole! Whew! What relief!! I just turned the slit part down and proceeded to shower, because I just had to get clean, after 3 weeks without a shower! Those sponge baths just do not cut it!! It worked out pretty well. My soft cast got a little damp at the very top, but it worked out fine. So, with those two modifications, it has served its purpose, but I would suggest making the hole larger and the whole thing longer. This is more of a small child size than for adults.

Perfect for any leg injury or surgery that can’t get wet. Very durable. Clings tight for no water seepage. To keep area good and dry, while you bathe or shower. Non slip footing, to avoid falls. Great product for the money.
