For the price I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Overall it does feel cheaply made in some areas, as in some parts fit loosely, but none of that detracts from its functionality. I love the adjustment options, the sturdy head strap, and the comfortable weight of the headset. The cushioning on the edges where you put your face is of good quality and comfortable. The lens width and depth can be tailored to your eyes very easily, and the lenses themselves are of good quality. The front fold-down panel stays closed magnetically and has a removable face plate which also attaches magnetically. Removing the front face plate allows for better cooling of your phone/device, which I like. Another thing I tried was wearing my prescription glasses while using the headset. With thick plastic frames it was doable but not very comfortable, however while wearing thin wire frame glasses, I had no problem adjusting the headset to fit comfortably. I was concerned about tearing the cushioning, so I put a small strip of duct tape on the spot where it contacts the glasses frame. Now some things I didn't like. The gears and rails used to slide the phone compartment forward and backward for depth adjustment don't resist accidental adjustments from pushing or pulling the compartment. When fully extended to maximum depth, it is quite easy to simply push the front compartment back all the way to the default position. Although I personally didn't need to adjust the depth, this may be a problem for someone who does need this adjustment. On the removable front face plate, the small metal pieces that contact the magnets can fall out of their tab slots, so I recommend gluing them in place. The hinge pin that attaches the fold-down panel can fall out. The hinge pin has one end that is of a thicker diameter and has a coarse texture which is meant to secure the pin inside the hinge through friction, but this doesn't seem to work so I recommend carefully gluing that end in place. In the end, after a few days of use, I am extremely satisfied with this headset. I used both Google Cardboard and the AAA VR Cinema app with excellent results. It's so great that there is such a good quality entry-level VR headset available at this price. I was considering Cardboard and other similar products in this price range, but this Voxkin VR headset was the clear winner. ... show more

Just put them back in the box within a few minutes of opening them, Amazon has already given me return instructions. There are 2 adjustment points on the unit. Pupil adjustment was already broken when I received the googles, but looking at the quality design and plastics used, I'm guessing that adjustment breaks often. The other adjustment is focus, or distance the phone screen is from the lens. This worked, but very poorly. I wasn't expecting much for $20, but these are really bad. As mentioned the unit was broken when I received, its clear from the packaging that I was not the first customer to purchase his particular unit. ... show more

These are very cheaply made and don't fit the newer large phones. Spring clamp that holds the phone presses on the buttons.

So on this instance of family members and friends, I decided to try to pick this thing up--if for no other reason to relive moments of my early adolescence by loading up the original doom and hacking my way through hordes of hellspawn with nothing more than a chainsaw. The price was right, the headset seemed really well made... Until I tried to mount my Note 4 into it. The mounting bracket compresses both the volume and power key to my Note 4--making it utterly unusable without going through the rigamarole of reprogramming the buttons of my cell. I've since returned it for a refund. The 3 stars are for the fact that, with a phone that has it's buttons placed, this seems like a robust VR solution that is comfortable on the head and not some jury-rigged contraption. The 2 stars off are for the fact that with the amount of different phones and their button configurations, the manufacturer could have introduced different ways of mounting it within the headset so that more phones could be mounted without depressing a button--especially without reprogramming the buttons. ... show more

I didn’t really know what to expect but thought it sounded fun for my grandkids. It is descent quality. Has an adjustable strap to hold into place on your head. It works well on adult heads, but didn’t tighten up enough on my grandkids. So they have to hold it. Wilbur doing some sewing to make a strap asjustment for smaller heads. That’s the main reason for taking one star off. Tried it with an iPhone 7 Plus and it didn’t fit with my case on. An iPhone 7 with slim case fit. You have to download 3D apps, game or movie on your phone to use the headset. It’s more or less a set of fancy 3D glasses that hold your phone. Headset doesn’t have controls except clarity. Which we thought was odd. Ordering a Bluetooth controller and wired headphones to get better use of this headset. Not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. The grandkids are having fun with it and that is most important. I did a video of the kids wearing it to give a better look at quality and fit, and have attempted to upload a couple times now with no luck. Will try again next week. ... show more

Ok, I wanted to wait a bit longer to review these VOXKIN goggles … my plan was to use them as FPV (First Person View) goggles for the WIFI video feed from my F11 quad copter to my iPhone. Unfortunately, the weather has not been good for drone flying ... kinda windy. Also, since I am new to FPV drone flying, my 1st few flights were just simple take offs, hovering with left and right yaw movements and landings. But those have been going very well! I will do more real “flying” as my experience expands and the weather improves. The video reception to my iphone inside the goggles is excellent with only limited latency (lag time). These goggles worked very well as a headset viewer of my iphone and provided a very clear picture of the view from the quads camera ... just like sitting inside the cockpit of the quad. There is a pond out behind my condo that will be perfect to explore with this setup. All in all, I am very pleased with these goggles and they are excellent for the price paid. ... show more
