This ping pong tabletop set is a little narrower and shorter than standard ping pong tables, but it's great if you just want to put it on your dining room table and don't have the space for a regular ping pong table. Some people have mentioned that the hinges get in the way of the ball bounces, but we've had this for a while now and it's never happened. It's obviously not a professional level table tennis set, but for the price, it's a perfectly fine product and it does come with game accessories and a game board on the reverse side. Pros: decent quality durable lies flat no problem with hinge interference on ball bounces paddles are good quality and come with a "hard side" and a "soft side" Cons: it's a tri-fold construction, and one of the hinges is on the opposite side, creating a very sharp pivot point which could potentially damage your furniture unless you have a thick pad underneath. ... show more

4 stars because it serves its purposes of my family just hanging out and having fun playing ping pong. No issues with the ball being affected by the creases. Yes, as others mentioned, it's not regulation size, but it still works. I'm taking off one star because while the product was packaged well, BOTH balls were completely dented and unusable. Listen to the other reviews and get a decent starter set - we got 4 paddles and 8 balls by Joola and it's worth the extra expense. The paddles that come with this set are awful too. The product has a horrible smell when you open it, but it's fine after airing out for a few hours. The net so far is usable, but you may need to buy a replacement. The product is definitely fragile, but I didn't expect something very well made for this price. In fact, my husband said that it was overpriced and that he could have made something better. I'm sure he could, but I'd rather have him do some other home improvement project because there is no shortage of things I could add to that honey-do list. :) After playing on it, he agreed that for the convenience and fun factor, it was worth it. Plus I specifically wanted something light and easy to set up, and the flimsiness factor helps here. Just be careful setting it up, and it's worth still having two people set up to ensure the hinges don't tweak. Our dining table is also the perfect size for this product, so it is very stable to play on. We used a tablecloth underneath to protect it from any scratches. Overall, we are more pleased than expected - time will tell how this product wears. ... show more

    • Folds do NOT interfere - GREAT Table for $99
If you have ever played ping pong professionally, read no more - I'm just trying to have fun with my kids. I was a little skeptical about getting this table after reading the main review, but my 10 year old son really loves ping pong. After carefully considering spending $200 to $400 on another table (NONE of which had more than a 4 star average), I bought this one. It is SUPER! It comes with paddles and balls, so we were good to go out of the box. If the folds interfere with your game, you are a better player than I am! We have played every day since his birthday party, and I can't recall one bounce that was was wrong. As long as the table is flat, the seams are flat, too. As far as the "other" review goes, I'm not sure what he expects from a $99 ping pong table. (He is probably too good for this table - his reviews include a $26 net and a $15 paddle case - definitely out of my league!). Flimsy hinges and plastic, sure, and the net does sag a tiny bit, but it works if you aren't playing a world class game. I think this is a great starter table to see if you really love ping pong. Money well spent for a very happy birthday! NOTE: The table you play upon is going to make a big difference. This table top set is 42" x 84" and we just happened to have a table that size. If you don't, that could possibly create the "folding seam" issue. Again, I have had NO problems. It also has checkers and backgammon on the flip side, which to my knowledge is NOT AVAILABLE on any other ping pong table! 8^) ... show more

I am surprised by the 4 stars. The product we received was cheaply constructed, had a broken hinge and one of the plastic corners had fallen off. Further, it is three panels rather than 2 which came together with a lip midway on each side of the table (photo appears like two panels with a mid line under the net). Good luck playing with the crevice on both sides. This was probably described in the details and I was too hasty... One would hope. Furthermore, this particular table was sold as "good as new"... Which it wasn't.. Damaged upon delivery...packing it back up was a real headache. The returnee's cover sheet was still enclosed! So much for Amazon checking on their materials. Spend the extra $100 for better quality! ... show more

    • Works but poor quality
I purchased this b/c it was smaller than regulation tables but larger than midsize tables. It will primarily be used by my 8-year old and her friends. The item was packed very well but when I unfolded the table top, the paint peeled right off at the seems. This not only looked bad but also interrupted play when the ball landed on the seem oddly. The fold seems affect play sometimes but I didn't find this to be a big deal. I was very disappointed with the paddles - which are super cheap and peeled after simply playing the first 2-3 plays. Amazon let me return this table b/c of the peeled paint and they sent a replacement. No peeled paint. That was good. One thing to be cautious of ... this top should be used with a base table that has is close to the same size. The kids like to lean on the ends and sides or lean on the surface to reach a ball in the center. If the top hangs over, the whole table lifts and may damage the hinges - or fall on the kid. In the end, buying a table that worked in addition to new paddles, more balls and the top itself, I should have bought mid-size complete table and forgotten about it. ... show more
