I contemplated getting this for 3 years.....yes...3 YEARS! I was concerned about the price VS quality of the shelves. But after seeing them in my sisters closet I pulled the plug and ordered them. Here is my take: Pros: 1.) Great storage space and ability to change height/orientation if needed. 2.) Assembly was straight forward and I did it on my own with ease! I hat to trim the top polls with a metal saw as my closet isnt very tall. But no problem. 3.) Stable and can hold a good amount of weight (we are coat people so this was a must) Cons: 1.) As someone on a budget, the price. But i must say, it is worth it! The polls are sturdy and the design is well thought out. 2.) It is overly packaged. My only complaint as far as assembly goes is that the parts are all zip tied together. Which, of course is great as it keeps the product from damage during shipping. But it was a pain with my cheap broken scissors. Use end snips if you have them! Bottom line, stop wasting your time looking. This will work perfectly!! ... show more

I bought two of these units to convert a small room of my house into a walk in closet and I'm so glad I did. The units were very easy to put together. I assembled both units by myself in about an hour. After I did the first one, the second was easy-peasy. Once I got all my clothes hung up, and my accessories and whatnot all organized, I stepped back and thought, Wow! My closet is like a boutique where everything is my size and my taste! That's a cool feeling. The racks themselves are very sturdy. If put together correctly, they are very sturdy and stable. I was able to hang everything I needed to without straining the rods, and I still have room to grow. I was highly impressed by the quality of these racks. I chose the gold finish because I wanted less of a utilitarian look- I didn't want something that looked like it belonged in a garage. I was concerned that the finish would be tacky, too yellow, or would chip easily. I was happily relieved to find that the gold was more a brushed brassy tone, not too yellow or shiny so as to look cheap. For what is essentially a bunch of metal wire racks, it looks quite elegant! Helpful tips for a neat and tidy look- Use uniform hangers, the thin felted kind in all the same color will upgrade your closet, guaranteed. The felted hangers prevents slippage and the uniform look of the hangers is just so visually satisfying. AND, the thin profile of this type of hanger means you can fit more clothes on a rod! (That said, do not overstuff!) If you are looking to do something similar to what I did, and you aren't interested in drilling a bunch of holes in your walls. this might be the solution for you. Packaging is absolutely stellar. Everything is secure, protected and well arranged in the box without excessive material usage. Assembly was as easy as one could expect from these baker rack kits. You don't need to follow the designs in the manual, but you are slightly limited with the hanging bars as their size makes it very difficult to improvise configurations. But if you follow either of the configurations on the product page, setup is a breeze. I'd love to say these racks are perfect but they are a couple of oversights in the design that just don't make sense given the impressive packaging and overall excellent build quality. By far the biggest problem is with the hanger bar brackets. These metal brackets hook on the shelves and are screwed into the bar. Unfortunately there is no way of securing these hangers to the shelf aside from the weight of the bar itself and any clothes on it. So until you have several outfits on the bar, its jankety mess. The whole bar can slide around or even fall off the rack entirely (see the pic). You can pinch the top shut to hold it in place or use white zip ties to secure the parts together, but in this shouldn't be the case. There should either be an extra pin or part to secure these hangers or they should be redesigned altogether. Another point of concern is the short hanger (in the center of most of the product pictures). Unlike the full length hanger bars which are screwed into their hangers, this component is welded together and must be flexed somewhat to fit, meaning someone could easily end up with a broken hanger bar. As from from these points (hence the 4 star overall rating), this is an excellent product and I would recommend it. ... show more

I love this organizer. I have moved many times in the last few years and every time, I disassemble and reassemble my closet organizer, so I have a place to put my clothes. It is easy to take down and put back up. It has held up well for each move. It provides a great space to put my clothes. I have also used it to store books and office supply stuff when I actually had a place to put my clothes for one move. It had no problem with the weight of my heavy books. Genius design. The only thing I wish was different...maybe enclosed shelves, but I used cardboard to keep the books from falling through the cracks. ... show more
