  • The neck is a little crooked , but otherwise it plays okay
At first I couldn’t get the tuning peg on the E string to stop slipping out of tune so I looked up a video on YouTube of how to fix it and that solved the problem. Only issue I really have with this instrument is the neck isn’t perfectly straight, making the strings shift closer to the other side of the fretboard. So far I’ve been able to play it fine though and my violin instructor hasn’t had an issue with the sound. I do plan on upgrading though to a much better instrument as soon as I am able to. Note: the carbon fiber bow in the picture is something I bought on my own it wasn’t included, the bow that came with this instrument is a brown one which isn’t pictured here. If I had to recommend to people though I’d save up for a better beginner instrument. Even a few hundred more will get you a better built and better sounding violin. However, I needed something fast and cheap so I got this one to start with. ... show more

  • Trouble with the pegs
It came intact, great for beginners. I did have trouble with the pegs they kept slipping just push in and turn. Other than that it is great!

  • Great inexpensive beginner violin
This is a great beginner violin. It doesn't stay in tune for a long time. Don't forget to rosin the bow! It didn't make any sounds (any good sounds) until we did that!

  • Really Nice Violin for the Price
I recently got this violin as a gift and I have been very happy with it! For the quality of the instrument and the things it comes with, I’m really surprised with its low price! I think it makes an excellent starter violin. The only issues I’ve had with it was the low quality of of rosin making it hard to apply any to the bow, and the bridge is not pre-notched, so it was a little confusing to set up as a first timer. But I am overall extremely happy with it!! ... show more

  • My first violin
So, I'm a beginner. My frustrating points with this violin are as follows: bow is synthetic hair, must apply rosin more often than recommended (and my rosin was broken to badly - had to order more), the "hairs" break quite easily, have to tighten the strings before each practice, the bridge is not the best quality, the shoulder rest falls off easily. I would much rather have an expensive one (you really do get what you pay for). However, all that being said, I would buy it again as a beginner to see if it's something I'm gonna stick with. It's a beautiful violin. But with the poor sound quality that I'm able to produce, practicing is frustrating - not sure if that's my fault or the violin (or both). ... show more

  • Not bad for the price
The violin itself sounds great. Louder than I expected. The bridge and fine tuners needed to be replaced but those are cheap fixes. The finish is very nice and the bow is adequate. Case is decent. Good value.
