    • Make sure your siding is 4 inch wide, 1/2 inc lap.
It fits 4 inch wide 1/2 inch lap siding perfectly. I modified it's intended use. I used it as a base for a dryer vent. I drilled out the 4 inch center so my dryer vent would fit through. One should use a drill press to do this so the hole is precise if one chooses do modify the use. Worked perfectly for me. I painted it too. Turned out nicely. ... show more

    • If it's perfectly on the garage with siding.
I use these on my garage to install two lights the only alteration I had to do was to cut a small piece off the sides about a quarter of an inch. I didn't have to but I guess I'm a bit of a perfectionist but these fit just fine caulked the sides and it works great

Loved this item. Fit perfect, robust, mounted easily, contained all needed hardware. Easy to install and looks great. I hope the UV protection is good but only time will tell. So far, I can give it the thumbs up.
