    • A thin, water resistant rug
This is a nice looking rug with more style than a typical rug or door mat. That's its main selling point. It's very thin, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I do find it has a tendency to curl up at the edges. It's fine at my front door, but other doors in the house that have less clearance with the floor might catch it. The underside is also not very grippy, so it slides around easily. Not a big deal, but could be annoying in a high-traffic area. One thing about it that caught my attention is that it's highly resistant to water, and presumably stains. I came in after it had rained one day, and several hours later, I noticed beads of water still on the surface of the mat, they hadn't soaked into the fabric. This will make it easy to clean, but probably also makes it a poor option for a bathroom or in front of a kitchen sink, as any water that hits it will stay put or run off onto the floor around it rather than being absorbed. I'm very happy with it, but those are the few caveats to consider. ... show more

We selected this small, beautiful area rug from AUKOW for our entryway but have found that it works wonderfully in our kitchen as well. It has a lot of desirable things going for it. For a rug which is only 1/4 inch thick it has an incredible amount of comfort and is so soft you just want to take your shoes off to stand on it. Seeing that it was machine washable removed any reservations my wife had for using it in the kitchen environment where she frequently gets bits of her cooking onto the surrounding floor. The rubber backing is helping it lay out smoothly and it hasn't slid around like every other pad we have tried there. That backing also makes it much easier to vacuum since it adds just enough stiffness to keep the vacuum from eating it. I mentioned the softness and comfort before but that is largely due to the fiber and yarn that is used in the construction. The listing doesn't say what it is made of other than to state "This floor carpet is made of high-quality faux wool fibers." To me this can only mean acrylic, since this man made fiber is used throughout industry as a wool substitute because it so closely resembles that natural fiber for all of it's good attributes while leaving behind the undesirable ones. So why say faux wool instead of acrylic. More mysterious perhaps unless they have one which I am not familiar with. In summary, there is a lot to like about this rug, whether for an entry, kitchen or the bathroom. Now there is a place you can squiggle your toes in it without getting embarrassed. ... show more

This rug is so soft. The color in person is more vibrant than what's shown in the pictures. It's very satisfying to walk on and my chairs glide easily on it. Very low pile. The rug was easy to fold out and was mostly flat when I rolled it out.
