I found this easy to stain and assemble, but it did take some time. The instructions say to sand and stain the parts before assembly. This is a good suggestion! However, mine was smooth enough so I skipped the sanding step. I did stain it prior to assembly. It takes stain very well and will require lots of it. I think it needs at least three coats six hours or so apart. I used roughly 24 oz of Minwax Natural 209. It is not quite a clear stain but it is pretty close. The wood comes fairly white in color. The stain brought out all sorts of beautiful reds, browns and yellows that were not visible in the bare wood at all. I think it looks beautiful! I am very glad I used several coats of stain! The results were worth it. Don't forget to stain the drawer knobs too! These really sucked up the stain and required much more than the rest of the dresser. Assembly was very straight forward and I found it fairly easy. It assembles better and easier than similar veneered particle board furniture. I believe this is because it is real wood. Be careful not to over tighten screws and other parts. This is not necessary and can damage the parts. Snug but not super tight is perfect! Be gentle! Every thing aligned well and assembled flawlessly for me. Inexpensive real wood furniture is impossible to find! This is a great deal that looks fantastic with a little bit of effort. One cannot buy furniture this nice at this price anywhere else! With that in mind, I suggest keeping one's expectations in check. It is not perfect. There are places where there is wood filler on the outside of the drawers and cabinet where it is visible. A little sandpaper can help minimize the impact of these spots. Nevertheless, I think it looks great and I now have a very nice, inexpensive dresser that looks far better than any veneered particle board furniture I could have purchased as an alternative. I am very pleased with my results and am considering a second dresser!

This is a good dresser. It is solid wood but the wood is really strips of thin wood pieces that are glued tightly together. But it is far superior to particle board! It’s a time consuming assembly project but once put together, it makes a sturdy and good sized dresser. It could be painted or stained.

The dresser had excess wood filler and glue all over it so it had to be sanded several times to remove this in order for stain to penetrate evenly , sadly to say I discovered this after first coat of stain was applied so more time and work into this project. If your not into carpentry you might want to get a dresser that's been assembled because this is like building a piece of furniture.The instructions were pretty good so that was helpful.The hardware was ok. All in all it's a nice piece of furniture after you construct it . Just beware of the sloppy glue and filler. Now let's see how their customer service is? Will update if satisfied . No they did nothing to rectify the situation removing another star crappy customer service don't buy this product it's a big mess

I bought two of these. Overall I'd say they're great if you don't mind doing some extra work...I'll list my thoughts below: Why I chose these - 1. The price is good 2. Rubberwood is harder than Pine (what most other solid wood furniture in this price range is) 3. full extension slides are awesome 4. I needed to match some other furniture so the DIY finish was a good fit for me Assembly - works like any other flat pack furniture and lined up OK. I spent a bit of time moving the drawers to different slots and tweaking things a bit to get them to look good. It's not perfect but pretty good overall. They include a couple extra of each fastener which is appreciated. Overall quality of the parts - The top on one was separating near the beveled edge and the sides on both had some problems with the joints separating, I don't think they used enough wood glue when they sandwiched these things together or maybe they warped and popped out after drying but I was able to remedy with additional glue. Nothing terrible, but I don't think the end user should have to deal with that. Finish quality - If you're going to paint this you won't need to worry as much since it all gets covered. If you want a nice wood finish pay extra attention to the numerous holes that might need filler, and any spots that they used filler on that is not a great color match (In some areas I removed their wood filler and replaced but missed a few spots that showed after finish) I spent a long time prepping sanding 120-180-240 to make sure I had a good surface to start with. I finished with five coats of Minwax semi-gloss wipe on poly. Sturdiness - make sure the cam locks are all tight and this seems pretty good. Cam locks might loosen over time though so I decided to wood glue & brad nail the sides, top, and cross beams together. I ended up with something that I think is really strong for flat pack furniture. If you don't have a nailgun the wood glue alone adds a lot of strength, just make sure everything is square and aligned before the glue sets. Other - the knobs they come with were plain so I had my wife pick some off amazon, different knobs will change the look a lot. I'd also recommend drilling pilot holes in the bottom of the legs so you can attach furniture glides or levelers as needed. I'll try to post an update in 6-12 months as to how they've held up.

I stained mine with BEHR water-based prestain (wood conditioner) and then BEHR wood stain (golden pecan-water based fast drying) and then applied 3 coats of Varathane urathane gloss. Out of the box, the wood is pretty smooth but I used a 400 grit sand paper on top and front before staining. The dresser is sturdy, the assembly instructions are clear, and the unit is very well packaged for shipping. Mine arrived via FedEx. In some reviews, people said they had a little trouble with the sliders for the drawers aligning perfectly....I did not experience this. The tiny pre drilled holes lined up perfectly as did all of the other connectors. The top has a very nice beveled edge. The dresser is all "hardwood" - rubber wood and is composed of smaller strips of wood that are "finger-jointed" to make the larger sides, top and drawers. The green glass knobs are mine which I used in place of the smaller wooden ones that were packaged. There were very, very few small spots where wood putty was applied by the manufacturer (blemish), but most of these were on the inside of the dresser and cannot be seen. My staining is not perfect. In fact it is the first time I have stained a piece of unfinished furniture. I think this was a great buy and it only took a couple of days, working on and off, to assemble , stain, and finish. My kid loves it.

The manufacturer claims it can be done in 4 hours. That's a stretch! There has to be at least 50 different wooden parts and 150 pieces of hardware. It takes the patience of Job to put this thing together. Add a couple of more hours if you plan to stain or paint the dresser which needs to be done prior to assembly. It also requires sanding prior to staining or painting. The top panel of the dresser was warped which necessitated the sanding of one of the support structures for the two drawers directly underneath the top panel. Problem solving this issue and the sanding ate up more time. Thank God my neighbor, who has lots of experience building furniture, came over and helped me out. I have put together a lot of Ikea furniture- fewer parts, much more straight forward. However the finished look of the Vingli dresser is more attractive than the Ikea pine furniture IMHO. The rubber wood has a very nice natural look. It is also heavier and more solid than pine . Would I purchase this product again? The answer is no. It took too much time to put together and the warped top panel caused too much aggravation. However, do I have a nice finished product? The answer is yes. PS: BTW, if you bought an Ikea product and there were defective and or missing parts, you could drive to the local Ikea store (assuming one was nearby) and get replacements from customer service. You don't have the same option with Vingli. They also do not provide a phone number for customer service in their instruction booklet. You would have to track them down via Amazon which is inconvenient.

A beautiful lightweight but durable little dresser. Perfect for small spaces and has great storage. Easy assembly and ready to paint or stain. I bought it for a midcentury home and plan to stain it to match original wood in home. a great find at a great price.

Far from perfect. Multiple visible spots that wood glue has been used and can’t be sanded down. Multiple screw tops have snapped off making it impossible to take the dresser apart again. It is real wood so that’s a plus, there are many flaws
