This is a great starter kit that comes with everything to get started. Excited to have a Raspberry Pi 5 kit. Everything is just as shown in the photos. The board matches the parts and markings on the official photos. The included card is SanDisk. The card includes the OS, but you can reformat the card and install an OS from scratch if desired. They included a Quick Start guide and a reference Pi Rule card with wiring info. You can get up and running quickly with this kit. I didn't have the time or want to part out a starter kit right now, and this works well for what I need. As a beginner myself, this is a wonderful start to linux. It was nicely packaged in the box and it was very easy to set up and run within minutes. The only problem is the wifi I recommend to be close to an access point(one or two thin walls) with the onboard antenna pointed to its direction or have it wired. ... show more

The quality control on this product is abysmal. The instructions are missing, inaccurate, or incomplete. The kit comes with an SD micro card, and you are asked to image it with a raspberry pi OS. Trying to image the card from the PC produced a litany of errors. From "cannot format disk" , to "you do not have permissions to format the card"... but it does it anyway!?!?!? The instructions for connecting the fan are just plain wrong. The product refers you to online videos on how to install the fan hardware, but does not give a url link to the appropriate videoe. Searching for the video shows that to connect the fan you need to connect wires from the fan to pins 0 & 14... but the fan already has a connector attached to the fan wires that are in no way compatible with either the board, nor can you connect the wires ( it does not say which). This kit is not worth tyring to work around all of the deficiencies in the instructions DO NOT BUY... unless you like frustration ... show more

Superior kit than others on amazon, at every aspect from packaging to included components. (Bought a raspberry pi 4b from other supplier came with plastic enclosure that never stays shut) this kit includes metal enclosure that screw's shut, includes a pouch if you take yours on the go. and the pi 5 kit was on sale so i got it cheaper than the pi 4 lol, might buy a 16gb model in future. will be using this for smart home application and tailscale to control unifi protect security system with tts messages :) ... show more

I purchased this kit to build a network monitoring tool for my home network. The kit arrived on time, well packaged and in excellent condition. The components all appeared to be of high quality and assembly was straightforward. My only complaint regarding this kit were the directions provided. There were several small sets of instructions which probably shows this kit was assembled of parts made to be sold separately and each was packaged with its own instruction sheet. There is a QR code to an overview video, though, and if that is watched first most people should be able to assemble this kit without major problem. I've been running this Pi for several months 24x7 hosting Pi-Hole and Fing agent and have been very happy with its reliability and performance. I have recently ordered a second Pi kit and plan to set that up as a controller for several smart home devices. ... show more
