Somehow when I ordered this mat I did not realize it had a slightly raised pebble design on it - that was actually a nice surprise, as the raised surface only adds to the comfort of the mat and gives it an interesting pattern that you wouldn’t expect to see on the floor of a kitchen The mat is very comfortable without being really thick - it lays flat easily and sticks well to my tile floor - the backing, as shown, is textured and rubbery feeling - it goes along with the waterproof top - I am not wild about the brick red color, but it really does look nice on my basic, light beige tile floor - overall, would recommend

My biggest issue with my current mat was that it always slips out of place and that it gets dirty rather easily since it was a fabric based mat. But no longer, this mat does not budge and is like standing on the child friendly playgrounds where they get less hurt from falling. I'm sure it'll also provide some damage resistance against falling dishware but I am not going to test that with my dishes so I'll only speculate on it. But definitely an upgrade to current kitchen mat!

Plastic well cushioned mat I have placed where my kitchen sink is and so far it seems better to stand on versus the hard floor...There was a definite plastic smell that has gone away and now I have not noticed a smell at all. The mat is a little smaller than I had anticipated but it is big enough to move my feet on and very comfortable for standing. The plastic is thick enough that I have not noted any indentation at all from standing on it and It's almost 1/2 inches thick. The color is such that it will match any type floor color. Definitely a recommended need for your kitchen...

While this kitchen mat appears thinner than what most mats I've had in the past it is by far the most comfortable. It is really squishy and supportive. I love how easy it is to clean and instead of a fabric on top it is some sort of non porous vinyl. I will say it was VERY smelly when it came out of the packaging and it needed to air out for about a day for it to no longer smell like plastic.

It can also be used in other areas of the house where you need to stand a lot such as in front of the computer or in the laundry room. The mat has a thick foam that is perfect for people with flat feet or legs that get tired easily. It has other great features like non-slip backing and an easy to clean surface. I don't spend a lot of time at the sink but I think the time that I do should be as comfortable as possible. That being said comfortable and fitting in my design aesthetic in the kitchen. This met both of those requirements. Comfort and color...check 9/10
