Great product! Just loved it so much A few tips to help: 1) Definitely view the video to watch how the machine works -- once you see it, it becomes pretty easy. 2) You really DON'T need to do the "trimming" step to make rounded corners! I made a bunch of photo buttons by just using google slides: First, I cropped/sized the photos into exact 2.1" × 2.1" squares, and then lined them up so that all the edges are touching (this allowed me to print 20 photo squares on a regular piece of letter paper). Make sure to line them up so they are all touching with no spaces in between the columns or rows. Then I quickly cut out the squares so I had a pile of photo squares. These squares fit perfectly within the rounded corner template, so when I pressed the buttons the photos still took up the entire button. To make the squares fit in the button -- line it up against the mylar covering and NOT directly on the metal / button machine -- there is a little bit of static between the paper and the mylar so you can center it every time. If you try to center the paper on the metal back / button machine it will keep floating around when you put the mylar covering on top and be really frustrating. Trimming rounded corners is totally unnecessary if you follow these directions and I saved so much time this way. (That being said if you email the company, they will send you a canva template if you want.) 3) Be REALLY precise when you are taking a piece of mylar covering from the pile -- make sure you ONLY take 1 piece per button, otherwise you'll get a bad button (and end up missing mylar for your last few buttons.) The pieces of mylar in the pile often stick together, so if your piece feels a little thick definitely double check if you have 1 or 2 pieces.

I bought a cutter a couple months ago not realizing that I also needed a press to complete these magnets! I'm using my QR code to access my online business card (I'm a performing musician with one other player), and wanted to level it up by sealing the code in a fridge magnet. This machine arrived yesterday and I was able to create a magnet to take to work lastnight. I plan to offer these magnets to customers so they will keep my card on their fridge. I'm so glad I got this little press, I think it will be as effective as the big metal ones. It comes with a Canva template and a You Tube link, and plenty of support. A tiny learning curve but worth it. Just be sure and crimp it really tight in the last step!

This is the second time we have purchased this machine. The first one was ok and made magnets pretty well. Eventually the base cracked right in half from the pressure of having to press it down. The second machine is terrible. A lot of the magnets you make will not stay together and will fall apart before you are even done putting on the magnetic back. They do not seem to fold the paper and plastic cover over and around enough to keep it secure under the plastic backing piece. Each time we try to use it we lose about 25-30% of the magnets to this problem. For example the last set I made was 22 magnets and 6 of them were defective. The problem is compounded by the fact that you can take the bad ones apart and reuse the white backing but you cannot reuse the metal square or plastic front cover so those are just trashed. This may be fine if you're just using this to make a few magnets for home. Don't expect this cheap machine to work for any small biz endeavors.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PHOTO MAGNET BUTTON MAKER!! I ordered this kit to make magnets with my granddaughters during a weekend sleepover. We followed the instructions and it was so easy and fun to use. The included Canva template was an added surprise to be able to print photos the correct size to make the magnets. Also included were blank white sheets that my granddaughter used to decorate and make into magnets. The quality of the machine is great, especially for the price. From my 7 year old granddaughter to a 65 year old grandma it was easy and fun to use. So happy with my purchase! In fact, I am so happy with the photo magnet maker that I purchased a new Epson color inkjet printer so I could print better quality photos! Thank you!!!

Very difficult to use I messed up at least 12 buttons trying to get one. And it doesn’t stay together for even afterwards. It starts to separate. I’ve watched YouTube videos and did it slowly pressed long and hard and still I had to use crazy glue and other things to keep them together. Worse product wasted money. Do not buy

I wanted to love it but most magnets fall apart. Can't expect greatness with this price tho, okay for personal use, but not for business. I made some for my sisters baby shower about half fell apart.

This is a cheaper alternative to an industrial button maker. It works fine, but there is a learning curb. I had no issues creating 5 different buttons using old comics, but my partner struggled making their first 2 buttons. In total we've made about 15 buttons and 13 out of the 15 had no issues. I own an industrial button maker and when I first started making buttons I had a similar success rate. I would say this product is an awesome way to dip your toes into button making or as a fun hobby button maker. I don't see it working well for businesses as the quality is on the lower end, but in comparison to an industrial button maker I would say this machine is worth the price. I will say my only issue with this product is the fact that some of the film I got was damaged in the packaging.
