I already purchased a memory card and had started using the video feature for work. The usb cord got destroyed. I tried to just get a replacement with no luck. I’d have to send everything back, which would’ve been more of a hassle. I would point out not just any usb cord is compatible. We tried several. Update: I have been able to find a replacement usb cord that is compatible with the camera. The seller also offered multiple times to replace the camera in its entirety. Get this and avoid the disasters that come with kids recording with phones. Kids always want to see themselves perform. But buying an expensive phone or allowing them free access to social media is scary. This is so inexpensive compared to a phone. Has great quality video and can easily be uploaded to share on a computer. The screen flips around so they can see themselves. It able to be mounted on a tripod or is easy to hold in a hand. There’s a cord to connect to the computer or TV and you can use an SD card if you have one for storage. It’s rechargeable—No need for batteries and it lasts for almost 2 hrs. Got this for my daughters science camp so she can capture some memory. They did not allow cellphone but said it’s okay to bring a camera. This is pretty much the size of the camera but much easier to operate. The camcorder have a camera mode and a video recording mode, so both can be easily done. The display can be rotated for easy viewing. The zoom is pretty incredible and can pull objects from really far away. Overall my daughter is really excited about the trip and camera. I liked the size and style of the camcorder. I took it on my road trip. Once I reviewed the pictures., I noticed some were grainy or blurry. Maybe I didn't have the settings correct. But the videos that I took came out great. Would buy again.
