  • Super fun!

Gave them to a friend and he loved them!

  • Works Perfectly
Color: Original Version
They fit Vic Firth 5A's perfectly, and they don't come off like others say, I'm sure they are just using the wrong kind of sticks. Nice bounce, not entirely silent but I wouldn't expect rubber tips to be anyways.

  • These aren’t supposed to muffle!
Color: Original Version
Pay no attention to the 1 or 2 star reviews that complained about the noise level or that the didn’t work when playing heavy metal. These are not designed to reduce noise or to play on a drum set or even a snare. They are designed to warm up your hands and practice rudiments on a table top or any surface really when you’re not near your drums. Perfect for backstage warm ups or working on hand exercises on a table top. No practice pad required. But yes, if your play them on a set of drums, they will probably be just as loud as regular sticks, but again, that IS NOT WHAT THEY ARE DESIGNED TO DO!!!!! ... show more

  • Not just for practice...
Color: Original Version
While these are great for quieter drum practice, I actually bought them to use with tongue drums. They sound about the same as mallets, but I notice better control and accuracy with these on a set of 5A's than I can manage with a lighter and thinner mallet.

  • Over-hyped
Color: Original Version
I bought these based on the reviews. There were people that said the tips fly off while playing, but a lot said they're great. I have multiple types of sticks, so I figured at least one of them would work great with these practice tips. I was wrong. They fly off of every drum stick I have. (An assortment of Meinl and LA Special: 5A, 7A, plastic acorn tips, wood acorn tips, concert tips) LAME! I am returning the extra packs I bought. They're fine for gently tapping on a table for rudiment practice, but if you need them to play your kit quietly, don't waste your money. I'll stick to rods and brushes. ... show more

  • Ingenious Idea
Color: Original Version
What a brilliant product. Before I heard about these, I used to carry a pair of drumsticks and a practice pad with me wherever I went. I used to play between classes, before extracurriculars, and whenever I had a chance to wind down. The consequence of this was that my backpack was always heavier than it had to be. After trying these, I am a changed person. These tips allow me to practice on the go while relying only on a pair of drumsticks. They hardly ever fall off and provide a strikingly similar experience to playing on a pad. They work on almost any surface, provided that it is sturdy enough. As an additional consequence of the design, they alter the traditional timbre of the drumset and allow you to experiment with new sounds. I would recommend these tips to almost anyone that needs some extra portability in their life. Whether you use them during school, before work, or in the car before a date that you're really nervous about and you can't seem to gather your thoughts because your anxiety is through the roof... (an oddly familiar occurence) you cannot go wrong with these. ... show more

  • Will not stay on sticks with medium to large fatter tips; have to be glued on
Color: Original Version
I've had these for about a year now and they will not stay on one pair of sticks I use but they do stay on a different pair of sticks. Why the difference? The sticks with a small jazz tip are not a problem. The sticks with a medium thicker rock tip are a problem, won't stay on. These sticks are the Zildjian Trilok Gurtu sticks which are about a 7A or a bit thicker. Rubber tips could be glued onto the tips permanently, but super glue nor JB Weld expoxy glue hold them on. So if you got the right glue the tips should theoretically stay in place -- not sure what the glue might be. So, buyer beware that these may or may not work for you depending on the size of the tips of your sticks. Overall, they have been a pain and won't buy any more. Have not measured their ability to reduce sound. 65 Drums on Youtube also has a review of the tips and shows the problem with them staying on. ... show more
