  • Happy with quality
Ordered these for my elementary band student. He was very happy with the purchase.

  • Nothing Better than Vic Firth
I love the balance in these sticks, and the sensitive of these tips.

  • Press Rolls
The Boleros are the go to stick for concert snare drum. You get control and decent rebound. If you take the Boleros to the drum set, you get really dark woody cymbals. You get more wood than cymbal in fact. So I like the way the sticks feel and play generally, but I'm looking for a stick that gives my cymbals more ring. ... show more

  • Play quietly? Much easier with these!
These sticks are actually different from the ones I thought I was ordering. Having said that .... I LOVE these sticks! The maple makes them surprisingly light weight. The extra size makes them very easy to control. I’m used to trying to play quietly, and using thin, lightweight sticks to help me. The smaller diameter makes it hard for me to conrol. I’m surprised how much the size make these easier to play, and play quietly. I love ‘em! Wish I’d discovered them sooner. As in, decades sooner. I wonder what sticks I meant to order. Who cares? ... show more

  • Love these sticks because they have thick grip yet are ...
Love these sticks because they have thick grip yet are light weight and are excellent in light volume and jazz applications. Brian Blade uses this model and when I talked to him at one of his clinics he mentioned how he likes a thicker stick that is lightweight. I was never a fan of 7A stick that are often used in Jazz due to their thinner shape. I like to play both rock and jazz. For Rock I use 2Bs because I prefer thicker beefier stick, but 2Bs are too heavy for jazz applications - in come the Boleros a thicker yet lightweight stick. ... show more

  • A Triumphant Return
When I first started to play drums several years ago, I started on these bad guys. Then I switched to Vic Firth's Buddy Rich series and played on them for a year or two because the music store I frequented no longer carried the Boleros. When I found these, here, on Amazon I was stoked and bought two pairs. Thankfully I break these much less frequently than the Buddy Riches I used to use (well, I still do, but I used to too) which saves me money in the long run. I'm not a technically proficient player so I can't go into details about rebound and the aural qualities they produce and how and why, but returning back to these after so long, really feels like coming home. ... show more

  • Really the best sticks for learning and mastery.
Nice balance and size makes these a great all around drumstick. If you like to really smash skins then these are the sticks for you.

  • Perfect concert band style sticks!
I bought these for use in the concert band at my school. Buzz rolls are a lot easier and, for me at least, cleaner, with SD2 Boleros. Even on a Evans Staccato drumhead, tuned a little on the loose side, buzz rolls are still smooth and connected. With other sticks I've used, rolls are just too choppy for my liking. These sticks arrived perfectly weight matched and ready to use. The thick shaft of the stick is great for having something to hold on to. I use these sticks in a concert band environment almost every day and they are by far my favorite sticks to use. I recommend these to you! ... show more
