Product arrived damaged and unusable. Start button was demolished and the tack welds on the thin sheet metal were broken. This machine won't be very rigid to begin with, but with a dented frame and half the welds busted, there's no way this thing can withstand any tool pressure. I contacted seller, and they offered a discount, but I told them I didn't want a discount, as the machine is worthless in it's current condition. I requested replacement parts so I could repair it, but they were having a holiday festival and couldn't send parts for a few days. It has been a few days, but no confirmation that parts have been shipped. I will update as the situation develops. I may request a refund before the eligibility runs out. ... show more

this lathe is a piece of junk! it was unbalanced! the motor burned up in less than an hour's use and sent sparks flying. I had to get it out of my shop before it burned my house down. The company I bought from (Sanven Corp./Boboran) promised a full refund within 48 hrs of receiving the the return. They got the lathe back on Thursday, may 27, 2021. It is now June 1, and I have not been refunded my money. That is five days so far, not the two days they promised. ... show more

Warranty seams to be useless. I have emailed and called numerous times with no satisfaction. I still have a broken face plate and a broken chisel rest. All I keep hearing is call back tomorrow. Set arrived in good condition, nicely packaged. I used the tools to make pens and turning larger projects like vases and cups. The straight square bit chipped very badly. I am using standard hardwoods like oak and pecan that have been stabilized. I just thought the carbide tips would last longer. Now I have to find the right replacements. The internet people said carbide insert lathe tools were easier for beginners... it was not. The traditional HSS was way easier and consistent plus less chip outs.

Came in a nice box. They are well made tools. Very sharp. Great tools for the price. They could be a little longer for some cuts but again you get 4 for the price of one.
