I use this regularly to clean my PX4 Storm Inox after a day at the range, it does an outstanding job with a 3:1 Distilled Water/Simple Green HD Pro solution. I also just used it to clean my old JC Higgins Model 20 12GA trigger assembly and receiver parts for the first time and it got crud out of the parts I did not know was in there. The only things so far that I could list as minor complaints are the heater seems a bit weak in my opinion but once the ultrasonic portion of the unit is turned on, it seems that heats the tank contents also. The thermostat control also seems to lag considerably but as I said, those are minor to me. ... show more

This is my first ultrasonic cleaner and I'm glad I didn't buy a smaller one. I actually got it with the intent to clean some fuel injectors but haven't gotten to that yet. It is big enough to clean connecting rods and probably push rods. Longer items you will need to clean one end and then flip them. So far I have cleaned some 300k+ mile spark plug heat shields, spark plugs, spark plug wires, some pocket knives and a toaster oven tray that had some serious baked on stuff. I really didn't think it would clean the toaster oven tray because I had been scrubbing it with a really abrasive pad with little success, but after two cycles what was left brushed off easily with a nylon bristle brush. I have only tried DEP degreaser in it, it's what I had around already and it worked well. I am sound sensitive and the sound is quite intense at first, but even I can be around and it and get used to it pretty quick. I wouldn't call it loud, just sort of angry like bees. The temperature control is easy to operate but not visually intuitive at first glance. Look closely at the labeling under the numbers to figure it out. The two left numbers are the set temperature in Celsius and the right two numbers are the actual temperature in Celsius. We use Fahrenheit here so I'll have to sort of figure out some basic conversion if I try to clean anything that would be temperature sensitive. I would buy it again, for sure. It has saved me quite a lot of time/money already with the spark plugs, the spark plug shields, the spark plug wires, the toaster oven tray and my pocket knives open much easier without having to lube them. I'll be really happy with it if it lasts a while. ... show more

Seems to work fine. I've not experienced any of the overheating/melting plug problems some others have reported. My only real complaint about the unit is that it's very noisy with the lid on. It would be nice if there was a rubber gasket around the rim to dampen the noise from the vibration of the lid when in operation. ... show more

This thing cleans all my pistol and rifle brass plus anything else I put in it. I was afraid it wouldn't last but it is a tough unit. I left the heater on after I dumped the water and thought I burned it up. Still works fine. Sounders work well also. This one has three and it cleans really well.

I used this unit and liked it quite a bit until after about 12 uses, it shut off and would not function any longer. I used it to clean pistol parts, so I ran it a maximum of 2 times per week for about 6 weeks in 15 minute intervals. I used heating and the ultrasonic cleaning, maybe that was too much for it. It worked well, but suddenly it shut off in the middle of a cleaning and would not turn back on. The rear power switch still worked based on the light in the power switch coming on, but the front panel just stopped working - no lights or anything. I unplugged it, let it cool down, and tried again, but nothing. I returned the product for a refund and I'll be looking for something a little more well made. Maybe I overworked it? Not too sure but definitely something to keep in mind if you plan on using it fairly frequently. I was outside of the return window by about 2 weeks but Amazon helped me out and extended the return window. Something else to note - the tray that holds the cleaning solution is not removable, so emptying the unit and cleaning it can be a bit of a hassle because you have to take the entire unit to a sink rinse the tray from there. Its not a huge deal, as I am not sure it would work as well if it did have a removable tray, but something else to keep in mind as the unit is not small. ... show more

Ultrasonic cleaning isn't magic, but it takes some common sense. It is easy if you're not in a hurry. This cleaner is nice, has a good temp control and easy to use interface. I bought the 10L one because it had a large enough basket to fit a carb, pistons, or VW oil cooler. I also got little baskets for the small carb parts. It take time and temp to make stuff clean. If you have a super gummed up part, figure on a couple hours of cleaning. The negative is that the longest time you can set is 30 minutes...no reason they couldn't allow it to go for a couple hours unless it's a duty cycle thing. So expect to hit go a few times until you're happy with the cleanliness. Changing the cleaning fluid / degreaser is easy enough. I've been using some generic cleaner from amazon...I'm pretty sure it's a rip off of Simple Green (but was cheaper). It comes with a drain valve and a somewhat crappy (but functional) nozzle/hose. That's ok by me...it functions and I don't need brass fittings to drain out the used fluid/degreaser. Expect really dirty stuff to make your degreaser really dirty. I've found that most things get clean within 2 hours at 40C, including the really gummed up and nasty carb which was the reason I bought this (turned out like new I might add). A few parts have taken longer, namely the oil cooler I should have bothered pre-cleaning prior to tossing it in (live and learn...needed to change the degreaser/detergent after it). I've not tried it with actual solvent (like carb cleaner) because I've found hot degreaser to be sufficient. Biggest thing now is to have a nearby system to flush the degreaser out of your newly clean part. And yes, it's loud, expect that, probably not the tool you want to put it in your bedroom or someplace you want peace and quiet. I can't believe the reviews complaining that the ULTRASONIC cleaner is loud...what did you expect? Luckily it's small enough you can simply put it outside and let it run if you so choose. ... show more
