Easy to assemble - even includes a little hammer to tap the shelf supports into place A note: it won't just slide together- line it up and tap it in place- the end result is a very sturdy and well held together structure. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble by myself at a leisurely pace. I recommend a soft dead-blow mallet to make them go together with less effort - Note 2 - the base is the tricky part if you're doing it alone - I saw an opportunity to use some clamps to hold the first few uprights in place while I got the foundation squared up and put together - this was a big help (see photos) Note 3- a suggestion- as you decide on shelf height - skip the tape measure - just set the main/biggest item you want on the shelf and place the next shelf up accordingly - I thought at first to make them all equal but instead decided to put the bottom shelf bigger for my jack stands and another "custom height" for my chop saw Quality notes There is a Nice coating on the metal - I also like the color as it contrasts against the shelves- If you need TRULY HD Shelves you may want to consider the next model up which comes with crossbar stabilizers and increases weight capacity - for me this is fine- rated up to 400lb each I just need it for driveway salt and car tools so this will be plenty and for the price I couldn't be happier ... show more

I’ll start with cons because the list is short. The directions aren’t great and pictures aren’t close enough to understand them. Once you figure it out though you’re getting it together. As stated in other reviews the supplied hammer doesn’t have enough weight to knock the sections into the notches. I suggest a hard plastic mallet if you have one. The plastic end protectors could be better/stronger but these get the job done. The Pros are the co$t. This being very reasonably priced for this size. The shelf when put together is strong and sturdy. I have cases of water on the bottom and no sagging. The flat boards are very nice as they prevent things from falling over like wire shelving. You can also use this as two separate shorter shelves. I may order another one of these in the future and do a build video to help people out. ... show more

Just got this together and it was pretty simple. There was enough room (almost a perfect fit) for two 3000w generators to sit on the bottom two shelves with some space to spare on the sides, a table saw on top, and the other two shelves for smaller boxes, tools, and knickknacks. Perfectly stable and doesn't even seem to bat an eye at the current loadout. Putting it together does require the included hammer to set the pieces in place. <I tend to break things when force is required but the parts held up fine. Boards sat in easily. Only thing of that I can think of that could potentially be a concern is that the shelves are made of a cheaper board material and not solid wood. More than durable enough, but liquids spilling on it and seeping in (if left unnoticed) would likely cause permanent damage. Put a mat on the shelves or other barrier and no issues to arise though. ... show more

This was a great purchase! I am an avid jigsaw puzzle builder, and when I enjoy any particular puzzle, I keep it for future enjoyment. My puzzles were piling up with no place to store them. This shelve fit right into an unused nook, was easy to build using my own rubber mallet (the little mallet included with the purchase was not sufficient) and holds all our puzzles with bonus room on top for my yoga mats!     • Sturdy storage but hard to assemble

Assembling this shelf by myself was horrendously difficult. The corner posts are held in place by snapping the side rails into them and every time I went to hammer a side rail into place the one next to it would pop out. As other people have said the small plastic tack hammer that was included was not adequate, I had to get out my rubber mallet and really smack the rails hard to get them to go into position. One thing other people haven't mentioned is the shelf depth issue. Because this unit essentially has l-shaped rails and then particle board is laid on top there is a gap between the 7 mm particle board and the top of the rail. So the shelf is not completely flat there's a little dip. For most things like putting a storage bin on top of it, that won't be a problem. But if you are planning to lay anything across the entire shelf you're not actually going to have it be resting on the particle board You're going to have it resting on the rails and that might be an issue with something delicate. Once I got over the initial problems of hammering it together it went together pretty easily, and fully assembled it feels pretty sturdy. Adjusting the shelf placement would require you to partially disassemble it and reassemble it. And the corner supports are in two pieces so there are a few notches that cannot be used because that's where the two corner posts are snapped together by a reinforcement clip. As you can see in the picture I made my bottom shelf slightly too large and ended up with an extra short shelf at the top. So definitely plan your placement before you start. I do like that they included some anchoring screws so you can attach it to the wall, unfortunately it didn't line up with studs in my shed but I think it will be fine. ... show more

Went together with no problem. Lots of parts as tightly packed as could possibly be managed. Assembles without a single screw or bolt, but can be secured to the wall if needed. Even comes with a special hammer. Very sturdy.
