This was a great addition to help clean up a disastrously messy garage! I picked this shelf because the shelves are adjustable in height. This is obviously great for storing a lot of different things, but I used this specifically with a bunch of 6" x 12" x 18" Sterilite boxes (the common, clear plastic bins), and the combination fit beautifully and keeps things organized, protected, and with hardly any wasted space. There is nothing to dislike about this. I have never had shelving that is so easy to assemble without nuts and bolts. Everything snaps together and is very sturdy. Additionally, the tools and gloves are included to make assembly easy and safe. I bought 3 of these to organize my garage and they are perfect. The product was easy to put together and only took about 20 minutes to assemble, which was because I'm retire and just took my time. Just some pointers: make sure you put the gloves on (metal material), start at the bottom using the supplied mallet. Don't put all the rubber end protectors on all of the rails, just use "eight" total (four bottom and four top: this is only for the 30" or 36") rack. I have the five-tier rack. When putting it together I counted nine spaces up from the bottom shelf for each shelf space until I reached the last shelf space, which came out to eight spaces at the top. Also, while attaching the rods together I did press down while using the rubber mallet to tap into place. Make sure the "big" holes are on top when putting it together. When installing the spacer connectors (4 each) for attaching the extended racks, the manual doesn't really show which way the spacers goes, so I installed them with the "lip" part with the "curve part" facing up, which worked fine when attaching the extended racks (rods) to them. They fitted perfectly. I know that I've said a lot, but I hope this helps someone when putting your project together. Thanks ... show more

The quality it horrible and even thought the install concept was nice the fit just didn’t happen no matter how much you used the mallet. Alright, so I wasn't expecting to actually get heavy duty shelves from Amazon since the companies who sell on here don't know the meaning of those words. I was hoping for light to medium-duty. Let's just say set your expectations at light duty...and then lower them. I could bend them with my bare hands if I wanted to, with not much arm strength. They do work for what I need them for though. Super thin metal, quarter inch MDF boards that end up slightly recessed once they are assembled. I got it as a return (gutsy, I know. I'm broke and need storage.) It came in a boxed that had been crushed at one end and then taped, then placed in a gigantic Amazon box. Surprisingly, the shelves had no damage whatsoever, so the half inch of foam at the end of the inner box did its job well. Included is a pair of gloves to keep you from cutting yourself on assembly which unravel at the wrists. They made it through assembly. Also, a tiny little mallet which fell apart before I got the thing put halfway together. Stable? Not really. You'll want to secure it to something. Like I said, it's super flimsy. Probably half the metal thickness of my medium duty shelving. The pieces do stay together after you hammer them in though. They aren't falling apart. ... show more

This is the 4th set of these shelves that I've purchase over 2 years, and they're all still holding up well. They've al been assembled by me alone without any issues at all. They've been used in the pantry for small cookware as well as canned and dry foods. A smaller set for the laundry room that holds gallons of detergent, bleach, various laundry supplies, and 2 more in the basement that catch everything that doesn't fit anywhere else. I was disappointed that the apparent outgassing (chemical odor) from the shelves limits the use of these shelves to open or well ventilated spaces. Garage would probably be fine, but I bought this unit to use in an enclosed workspace and its utility is limited. I am faced with scrapping the shelves or perhaps painting them or replacing the shelf panels with some other less problematic material (plywood?).
