The rpm specification is a complete lie. The rpm is 220 to 540 rpm. I figured this drill must be geared slower than the other mag drills and that would be a huge plus. Unfortunately it was deception. Why am I not sending this thing back on principle alone? The spindle run out on mine is 0.003" to 0.005". Not bad at all. I feel lucky with that... The over all travel is 8.5" and it has plenty of height to utilize a drill chuck with most jobber drills except maybe nearing 1/2". The gibs are thick and chromed and easy to adjust. Over all the quality is really not bad at all. The motor case is metal. Everthing else looks really decent. I haven't checked the motor amps but I won't be surprised if that is exaggerated too. Knowing what I know now I'd still buy it. ... show more

    • It works better than ok but not great
First off the outer box and inner box had both been opened. Amazon tape was cut and taped over with clear packaging tape. The pot for the cutting oil doesn’t mount correctly AND it has a steady leak. The bolt hole spacing in the reservoir don’t match chose in the drill. Had to mount using only one screw. I’ll drill a new hole so that it can be mounted correctly. Most of the time, the magnetic base did a good job. Only once did the drill move when starting to drill a new hole. Overall, the drill worked as well as I could have hoped for such a budget drill. I wouldn’t recommend this to others. ... show more

This mag drill really worked for me. I needed the variable speed for line boring several bores on my bulldozer. I had to tighten up the ways on the drill when I first set it up. There is enough extra wire in the mag base to turn it 180 degrees to give more room from the drill centerline to the base. I have also used it with a Jacob’s chuck and twist drills and several annular cutters. I had no problems with the drill at all. It’s quite large and very powerful even at low speeds. I have used mag drills at work that costed thousands more than this and they didn’t even have variable speed. ... show more

Very cheap Chinese junk I would not recommend this drill I honestly didn’t expect a lot out of it in that aspect it didn’t let me down this thing is terrible you could see the pictures I gave it two stars I just as easily could’ve gave it one it did run. The plastic feed tube was stuffed in the fluid container and was so kinked it could not even be used the quality is outstandingly bad the casting the painting is shown by the pictures speak for itself horrible. How or why they would even ship something like this is beyond me. ... show more
