WAY sturdier than we were expecting and looks really nice!! This doubled our counter space and gives really valuable storage to our kitchen. The wheel locks don’t work very well, but we don’t need them. We were not expecting much, but this makes a huge difference in our kitchen and the butcher block top looks really really nice. It took a while to put together, and it is definitely helpful to have someone to help (like when it need to be flipped over and when it’s time to attach the doors), but 1 person can do it for sure. It’s absolutely gorgeous and serves its purpose well! I’ve already started using it for Thanksgiving prep! Moves so easily and fits perfectly where I needed it to go. I have the tiniest kitchen so this beautiful rolling island is helping me so so much!!!

I love the look of this piece, especially the top because it doesn't look cheap. However, the drawer bottoms and backboard are thin and the wheel hardware are definitely cheap. Drawers easily slam shut if you're not careful, which don't pull out all the way. The item itself is 32.5 inches tall while the actual kitchen counter is 36 inches tall. It therefore encourages you to slouch while cooking which is the biggest downside. It feels also a bit foreign because of that height discrepancy but I'm getting used to it. The extra storage AND counterspace was needed in my new apartment that only has 21inches of counterspace, with cupboards that only fit my wares. So I've been using this new island for my baking supplies and as a pantry. And in case anyone was wondering what the back looks like (I sure did since it's a floating piece), I included a photo. I think it looks pretty nice. I don't mind that being exposed to the entryway. And pardon the mess: I took these pictures after having baked with it. Also to show that it's coming to good use already. The hooks on the side do come in handy, however I wish they locked onto the pole rather than free-hanging because sometimes removing a utensil will take the hook with it. I'm not a huge fan of how close my spatula is to the floor but this is better than nothing. As for sturdiness, I'm always concerned about that when it comes to Amazon furniture at this price point. This island doesn't wobble and the wheels don't glide around even when unlocked which is super nice. You have to give it a firm push/pull in order to move it around. This took me, by myself, about 3.5 hours to build. The instructions were mostly clear and easy to follow. Step 4 was a little difficult only because there's a lot of overlapping dotted lines, so at first I wasn't completely sure what went where. But I figured it out. In step 6, it shows to place board 8 into board 4, but that makes it into a free moving teeter-totter that will absolutely clatter to the floor (not good when you have below neighbors and no carpet). I'd suggest screwing in board 7, jump to step 7, attach board 7 to board 2. Once that's secure, THEN put board 8 in. Doing this also makes it easier to line everything up and connect at the correct lengths, which also reduces potential damage. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The only two things I'd change are the height and the drawer tech. I wish it was all real wood but this will work for now.

After searching Amazon for a kitchen island, I finally settled on this one. I chose this one in particular bc the height was 35", which seems to be on the higher end, but also was affordable. I was a little intimidated when I saw the reviews said it took other customers 4+ hours to put together, so I waited until I had a free day to make sure I had plenty of time. It only took me 1 hour and 5 min. It looks very nice when all put together. The box came VERY damaged, I was worried I would be missing a piece or 2, but no, everything was there. And all the tools you need to build this is a phillips head, and the Allan wrench that's provied. Seems sturdy, and I'm digging the wheels. Makes it easy to move out of the way if I have company.

This item is great, the quality is impressive for an Amazon item. You’re probably wondering why it’s one star though after that start? Here’s why, it showed up missing parts, I contacted VEVOR Customer service to help rectify the situation… they are abysmal to deal with, they take forever to respond, don’t pay attention and I had to repeat what parts were missing twice, even though I provided PICTURES of the missing parts. When they finally sent me the missing parts, they sent only one… I needed 2, it was the bottoms for the sliding drawers. Amazon customer service though, 10 out of 10, 1000 stars, I told them what was happening and they refunded my purchase fully, told me to keep the item, and told me to keep fighting to get my missing parts. I cannot make this more clear. AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS PERFECT. Long and short of it, buy at your own risk, if parts are missing enjoy the horrible customer service from VEVOR, but enjoy the great service from Amazon. Oh… it’s been 3 weeks, I just got the first drawer bottom, now fighting customer service for the second, joy… another 3 week process. Really just don’t buy… good quality, but the experience is awful if your missing something or something is broken.

The holes that they predrilled did not match up very well and instructions (if you get them with the car, we did not and had to find them online) was more difficult than necessary to follow. The doors went in perfectly with the predrilled holes but when you close one side, the other side pops open. We just left the doors off on one side. Also the latches for the drop down part are super flimsy. I’m going to have to buy some different ones at Home Depot. Very disappointed.
