I am a junker , I buy old junk cars and scrap them out and take the rest to the shredder , my old winch finally gave out , bought this one thinking I would probably send it back , but it’s been working amazingly awesome. I pulled a GMC Tahoe Denali up on my trailer with this thing without any problems whatsoever. Not only that , I pulled a Jeep with a broken front lower A-frame and it pulled it up without any problems as well. Look I’m not saying this thing is top of the line , but for the price , it’s an awesome piece of equipment. I wished I had thought to record a video of pulling the vehicles up on my trailer but I’m sorry I didn’t. But after it pulled the Denali up , I was shocked. Like I said , I figured I would be sending it back. I haven’t used the wireless feature yet , but I intend to the next time I load another vehicle. Works well. No completely satisfied with the mounting. The angled bracket on the bottom of the control box didn’t give me many options to mount it. Pictures show the only way I could figure mounting it. Would have preferred it mounted to the winch. Over all still a 4 star based on price and performance. Install was otherwise very easy ... show more

This review is for the Velvor 4500 lb electric winch. Review date is 12/23. OK, granted, the winch is being operated in a manor that's not even close to what it's rated at. The winch is not being used for pulling downed timber up the side of a cliff, nor is the winch being used to jerk a stuck vehicle out of the mud, or a snowbank. The winch is being used to raise and lower a 60' antenna tower, and has do so trouble free for quite awhile now. The winch seems well made, for what it cost. Personally, I think that winches like this all come off of the same assembly line with the only difference being the color and the name that's attached. But that's just my opinion, which nothing. Would I buy it again? Probably not, only because I've since found a model with a larger motor for about the same cost. ... show more

bolt holding winch cable to spool broke off first time using. It still had 2 layers of cable on the spool and the length of cable let out was nowhere near the red marked portion. The bolt looks to be only about an 1/8th inch thick. Couldn't be very strong.

    • Light weight for a 13k winch in a cradle

Good value and works well, including the remote. I needed the synthetic cable for weight. I put it in a cradle as I use it on two different trucks, both front and rear, plus on my gooseneck flatbed trailer. I welded 2 inch trailer receiver tubes everywhere needed. Long jumper cables with quick connectors provide power so I don't need batteries at all these locations. The controller box is awkward for this use since it is not attached to the winch body. An integrated controller would have saved me installation time. ... show more
