I own a trailer rental company that uses 12k winches on all my trailers. This winch is $40 cheaper than Harbor Freight (at the time, at least), and does not come with an on/off switch, or wiring that has the ring terminals for the switch. So, after spending $40 more roughly for all these components to wire in (again, that the Harbor Freight winch comes with), it had a ton of issues. Wiring was crap quality, it made a bunch of noises, the wiring box broke off the top (because the low quality allowed the winch cable to hit it), and it ultimately broke before any other winch. Half the time it didn't work at all and you had to smack it and move the wires around, but it ended up dying half way through pulling up a 2,000 car. Do not buy!

This is a poorly designed item. The cable has no guide when winding on the drum and gets kinked and frayed when trying to unwind the cable. I never got to use this winch out of the box, except for trying to get the mangled cable off the drum. Buyer Beware, the seller’s cooperation to resolve the warranty issue was worthless, Informing me the cable is a commonly replaced item at my expense and never even addressed a missing nut on the drum. I do not recommend buyers purchase this product. After several request to send spare parts with no vendor action, I finally got customer support to replace the entire winch assembly. I will finish this review after I receive the New Winch.. The vendor has shipped the replacement? The replacement winch has been received and appears to be in new condition. Receipt of the new product resolved my issue, & gained my respect for the company warranty service. Great winch for the price.

The media could not be loaded. Bought the winch for my daughter's first vehicle a jeep wrangler a few months ago. Took two months before I decided to install the winch but I have to say it installed perfectly and everything functions very well as described. Easy installation and was done in an hour and a half. I will test out the winch under load at a later date. Very good product!
