I built car and airplane models as a kid, and painted them either with a brush or the cans of paint in the garage. Then, this Christmas, my wife gave me a model of an early Bronco, just like the one in the driveway...except it was all white. I thought about using my car painting equipment, but the compressor disturbs the neighbors late at night, so I opted for a little set up. Turns out, you can spend about as much as you want for an air brush set up. $300 was the average at the local hobby and crafts stores. The model was $30, paints, thinners and cleaning kit was $90, and my budget for models was starting to rival the budget on the real one in the driveway. Another 300 for an airbrush would have been hard to justify. The compressor unit is quiet and has 3 pressure settings. The hose and water trap are easy to assemble and use. The parts were packed nicely and like the 300 dollar unit at the hobby store. The air brush it self feels like it should (although I didn't hold any in the stores that were over 50 bucks). The kit came with 3 different size nozzles. A few runs with different air pressures and thinners, and I was painting model parts like a guy who knows to paint model parts. EXCEPT FOR ONE THING.... I will give any thing with well written instructions a 4... If I didn't have working knowledge of spray guns, I would have made a mess, and not been able to change the nozzle size. I've been trying to get into airbrush painting for a while now, so I bought this as my first compressor and it's amazing, it's really quiet, it comes with 3 airbrushes, and its small size makes it really easy to store, it creates a really consistent airflow and the moisture remover make sure that water extra water doesn't get into the airstream, and it has an auto-shutoff feature so that when the compressor tank is full, it turns off instead of making noise, and once the tank is empty it kicks on again. one bonus about the compressor is that its black and orange, this doesn't really affect my rating but It's my favorite color scheme. Quiet and easy to set up, when my brain works. The siphon air gun leaks air out of every small area possible including around the button. You may think that it's probably user error, I did too. Wiggling the button a bit and the air leak stopped completely, the pressure was down low on fifteen psi so that shouldn't have been a problem. ... show more

The kit and airbrushes work great for my purpose, which was airbrush application of uniform coats of acrylic paint (not pictorial work). They also shipped me one missing part from kit EMS just a few days to get here. So I am very satisfied. The pump does vibrate a bit. The first I received walked all over floor whenever it was turned on due to imbalance or some other issue, but exchanged it and 2nd one is much less lively, although as I say they do vibrate a bit normally. ... show more
