I thought the nylon rope would tear, wear, or not keep its strength. Not the case. This winch is currently mounted on a 5x10 utility trailer and I use it to pull a 37 ton Rugged Made log splitter that weighs 1,100 pounds. It bears down when the splitter’s wheels hits the ramp and then pulls it right along. I paired it with a marine battery and used it all season on that battery’s original charge. Had to drill new holes on my Sportsman 450 in order for this unit to bolt up but well worth the extra effort considering the overall price of it. Seems to be plenty strong enough for everything I will ever use it for.
