I live in the Rocky Mountains and we have lost power twice this winter when the temperature outside was -15 Fahrenheit. I use this stove to keep the upstairs room from being frigid and to keep the pipes from freezing. It doesn’t give off a ton of heat but it’s better than nothing in a part of the house without a wood burning stove. I moved here from NYC last spring and felt a little silly buying this stove in the middle of summer but I’m so glad I did. I have a few extra cans of fuel too as this stove comes only with three cans. Better to feel silly and be prepared then stuck in a blackout in the middle of winter without heat. love this unit, kept a four-person tent very comfortable at 19 degrees outside and 68 degrees inside (as shown in photo, taken at coldest part of trip). like the use of canned heat instead of propane, no smell and no chance of explosive gas leaks. Having a built-in fan is a very nice feature, and the added cooking function makes this unit a vital piece of equipment for tent camping or to keep around for any emergency like power outages or inclement weather. I got this for emergency heat. My item did not have any canned heat included. Either the product listing is wrong or it was not shipped. Amazon support had to give partial refund as I really wanted the item. The item works great as a heater. For cooking it needs to be small dishes or small amounts of water to boil. I won't use it for cooking just a heater. I am using cheap canned heat from local store so I don't know if the included cans are hotter or not. I did notice that if I pulled the wick out a little more the fire will get hotter but burns fuel faster. I will order the insta canned heat to see if theirs makes a difference. ... show more
