There is no doubt that the quality of the bag is good, however the neck of the opening is slightly turned in so the opening wasn't as wide as expected, and I felt I'd struggle to place things in and out. Then, the black brought my mood down, and even though I knew it would be black, the Vera Bradley colorful patterns are what bring me joy, so for the cost, I felt I'd better wait to get one with a pattern I like and returned it.

The bullet points and answered questions are not necessarily correct for this bag, so I wanted to write a review to help clear things up. I got the Bahama Bay, which is a nice bright color, and I am hoping to keep it that way. The bullet points currently say that this is cotton, but since I have another Vera Bradley with the same quilted twill pattern (the triple zip, but in black), I was pretty sure this was polyester microfiber and yes, it is. Sturdy, and well made, as you're expecting. It will clearly be a long lived bag as long as I can keep it clean, and yes, it's machine washable. From the Vera Bradley site: "Product Care: Close all zippers before laundering, machine wash cold, gentle cycle, use only non-chlorine bleach as needed; line dry". I haven't had a washable work bag before, so this seems a ginormous win. Also from that site, in case the info here gets further confused: "Microfiber is lightweight, solid-colored polyester. Exterior features a front slip pocket, a zip pocket and a hidden top pocket. Interior features six slip pockets. Zip closure." The interior pockets are open at the top, and there are three on each side of the bag. "Dimensions: 15.00" w x 14.50" h x 6.00" d with 12.00" strap drop". There is no cardboard insert in this bag, though there is a sturdy piece of plastic (I think) at the bottom (inside; non removable). I wish that there were a full-length pocket somewhere for protecting papers or the like, but I might just carry around a folio for that purpose. So: this bag is everything I was hoping it would be (aside from the full-length pocket, which is just something I forgot to check for), and the only question I have is how easy it will be to keep clean. But I love the bright colors and the sturdy fabric, and this is definitely a keeper.

I am so in love with this bag! The color is breathtaking! This is actually my first Vera Bradley purchase. I have bought Donna Sharp purses in the past and love the quilted purses for the comfort of carrying a light, soft purse. I have Fibro, so this is an important issue to me when it comes to buying handbags, they have to be light and comfortable, so I am just naturally drawn to quilted bags. The reason I was drawn to this bag was because of the color first, the fact that it is a solid color too, so that I don't have to worry about it clashing with a printed skirt or top. The next feature I was drawn to was the amount of room in this bag and all the pockets for organization as well. I am always taking measurements of my current favorite bag and comparing the dimensions of a bag I'm considering buying to try and make it similar so I'm not getting something too small or too large for my particular taste. I knew going into this purchase that it was several inches taller than my regular bag, so I was hoping it was not going to be an issue for me to carry a larger bag and feel silly. So when my bag arrived, it was indeed larger than I am used to carrying, but I am soooo loving all the room and the pockets and the color. I absolutely love this bag so much, I don't even care that its larger. It's light, comfortable and gorgeous. I have plenty of room for all of my things, plus if I want to throw a sweater in there or whatever, there is room for that as well. I actually ordered the classic black a few minutes ago too, because that will absolutely go with everything and it's so classy looking. Highly recommend this bag!

The bottom could be sturdier but overall it's a great tote bag. Love that it zips up and is also lightweight. The outer zip pocket is perfect for securing things that I need to access quickly.

Wow, this bag is very well crafted. I love the contrast between the inside and outside of the bag. I feel like I can see the contents easily. There are plenty of inner pockets for organization. The handles seem a little stiff, on the other hand, they also seem like they'll hold up to many beatings. Although there is no zipper closer for the main compartment of the bag, the toggle closure is tight and secure, I have heard that the classic colored bags tend to be less pliable than the patterned ones, perhaps this is why. When I use the toggle closure, the bag feels securely shut. Unless I had a bunch of small items and held the bag upside down and shook, I don't think I'll have to worry about anything falling out. A note about the seller: they shipped immediately and my bag arrived 2 days before it was expected. Thank you!

Saw this tote on the beach a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with it. Started a search for it and found it right away on Amazon. My current Beach tote was much too large and kept collecting unnecessary items making it very heavy to drag down to the water's edge. This one is the perfect size and fits everything that I need and nothing that I don't. The color is gorgeous yes.
