I can’t believe how well this has weathered a standard poodle. Raven scratches it. Receives treats on it when he’s good. Lounges on it just because. He loves his “place” and so do we. No rips. This raised bed (cot) will last for a good long time providing the dog does not chew the cover (but that's just par for the course: any dog that chews will ruin any bed), or their too long toe nails cut the material . I am not a fan of buying everything from China, but I should not be surprised that it was from that country - can't the USA even make a simple dog bed? I wish the product description had included this detail, because it would effect some of my choices. The product description photo is a bit misleading: the size of the large dog in the picture is reduced in size relative to the bed, resulting in the impression that this bed (XL) is extremely spacious. It is not. I have a 85 Lb German Shepherd Dog (GSD) that fits comfortably on the XL sized, but there is no room to spare. That said, the concept, design, materials and execution are well done. (I recommend buying the XL bed for a GSD, not the L size as recommended in the size chart.) While the joints are made of plastic, it is of a kind that is very resistant to fracture, so I am not worried on this count. The cot does sag toward the center just a bit, so don't think the surface is going to be completely planar no matter how toughly it is fastened. Still, I don't believe it is any worse than all the other beds in this regard. I cannot agree with the few people who claim it is a bit challenging to assemble. The pictograms are straightforward and well executed. (And then, of course, there is always YouTube to seek out instructions.) I found no difficulty in assembling the cot in about ten (10) minutes, and it was easy. I wish they had made the depth (width) two inches longer (35" instead of 33"), but I am not going to quibble on this point. Never-the-less, I feel comfortable recommending this product. ... show more

This is a REALLY well built elevated dog bed! He only weighs 16lbs now but he’s probably going to weigh about 75 and so only time will tell about longevity. He climbed right up on it and laid down and went to sleep. It’s going to keep him cool and comfortable this summer for sure! Definitely worth the forty bucks. I love how the legs on this one come straight down instead of outward like I’ve seen on other ones. Less space is taken up and there’s smaller chances for people to trip over it. Since it’s easy to put together (but sturdy - everything is tightly fitted), I imagine it could be a good traveling bed also - something that could be broken down and put back up. ... show more

My dogs love this bed! It doesn’t stain, they find it super comfy, and they can’t tear into it like they do with plus beds. If you have a dog who goes into heat, the blood won’t stain this bed even if it’s a light color! The seams have come apart a tiny bit, but I’d still say that it’s pretty sturdy. Dog fur doesn’t stick to the bed, but instead falls to the floor beneath it. Doesn’t collect odor like other beds do! ... show more
