Our dogs really love these beds. They prefer to lay/sleep here most of the time. They will lay on them for hours. Much better than the floor. The fabric can also be washed but I mostly just hose them off if they get dirty. You can use them outside but we use ours inside which keeps them off the furniture. They are made with a sturdy metal frame and have a center support most other brands do not have. This helps with keeping its shape with a 100 lb dog on it and if they are feeling it sometimes both of them will lay on one. For the price and quality you can not beat theses beds. If your in the market for one I highly recommend. Update: So it has been one year. By now my dogs have picked their respective bed and return there on command, usually for treats to avoid fighting. I am happy to say there is nothing wrong with these beds after 8+ hours of daily use by 110 pound Dobermans. Really nothing. I did not have to fix anything, tighten anything, tape anything, glue anything, you get the point. Of all the many products I have bought for these dogs, this is the only one that survived. For a size comparison, these are tall 110 pound Dobermans on the 49x33 bed. It seems to fit them well and creates sort of a nest when they lay as the center gives a little and along the rails stay higher it props their head a little which they seem to like. This raised bed (cot) will last for a good long time providing the dog does not chew the cover (but that's just par for the course: any dog that chews will ruin any bed), or their too long toe nails cut the material . I am not a fan of buying everything from China, but I should not be surprised that it was from that country - can't the USA even make a simple dog bed? I wish the product description had included this detail, because it would effect some of my choices. The product description photo is a bit misleading: the size of the large dog in the picture is reduced in size relative to the bed, resulting in the impression that this bed (XL) is extremely spacious. It is not. I have a 85 Lb German Shepherd Dog (GSD) that fits comfortably on the XL sized, but there is no room to spare. That said, the concept, design, materials and execution are well done. (I recommend buying the XL bed for a GSD, not the L size as recommended in the size chart.) While the joints are made of plastic, it is of a kind that is very resistant to fracture, so I am not worried on this count. The cot does sag toward the center just a bit, so don't think the surface is going to be completely planar no matter how toughly it is fastened. Still, I don't believe it is any worse than all the other beds in this regard. I cannot agree with the few people who claim it is a bit challenging to assemble. The pictograms are straightforward and well executed. (And then, of course, there is always YouTube to seek out instructions.) I found no difficulty in assembling the cot in about ten (10) minutes, and it was easy. I wish they had made the depth (width) two inches longer (35" instead of 33"), but I am not going to quibble on this point. Never-the-less, I feel comfortable recommending this product. ... show more

First, I've never ordered an item and receive it the next day. Thats shocking! This is the second elevated bed I've bought for my corso. I have one downstairs and one upstairs. She loves it. So do I, no more hearing the "thud" as she lays down. I also think it's easier for her to get up versus being on the floor. Or maybe it's my imagination idk. Either way, she knew right away as I was putting it together - what it was. She laid on the mesh as soon as I unfolded it. I will purchase again, as i will need another for my screened in patio at my resort. Haven't a need for extra cushions or blankets, she throws all that stuff off. She prefers just mesh. Hence the "cooling" aspect. Plenty big for her to sprawl too. As for the corners... there's definitely a right and wrong way to put it together so corners don't break. And thats what the velcro end is for to help with. Not rocket science. ... show more

Must have raised bed!

Price has definitely gone up but still the best raised bed on the market. I’ve tried over 5 other brands all fell apart in months. You truly get what you pay for with this bed. Keeps dogs cool in summer, I’m a dog trainer so have many of these that stay outside and many that stay inside I have at least 2 in every size but have had well over 10 size large over the years. Been using these beds for just about 6 years now and I’ll never look back. Only ever had one break on me (that was 100% on the dog who did it she was special and could destroy anything the toughest dog couldn’t destroy so no fault of these beds) aside from that I’ve had absolutely 0 issues with them. Great for summer if you put a sprinkler underneath the big one or a mister over the dog on the bed and it’s heaven! All dogs I’ve ever had in my house love them. Super easy to clean and soooo beyond durable! Now that they have upped their sizes it’s really the only dog bed you’d ever need! Good for dogs in pain like dysplasia or arthritis, quiet for nerves dogs. Just can be hard to put some of the sizes together but ones it’s together it’s perfect! ... show more

Could Be Better

I've bought 2 of these. One of them has a bar that has already bent, so the bed sags now. I was tempted to give 3 stars, but the overall quality of the bed material and structure is good, but not sure why the one has at least 1 low-quality bar. The dogs love their beds and aren't bothered by the sagging bar, but it's not visually appealing for us and leaves us disappointed. ... show more
