Depending on the material (and size) of your switch box, it will (or won't) fit. I agree with Mark Graves that "This is a well built product, but I had a problem getting it to fit inside a single gang old work box." It didn't fit into a PVC single gang old work box without me cutting away some of the PVC material. However, the product is very well built and gives a very "clean" look to the finished project. In order to fit, the inside of the single gang old work box needs to be 77 millimeters (see attached picture). ... show more

I was looking for a lock my 85 yr old mom can easily use, so I bought this one. It is easy to install if the existing door cutouts were done correctly. I had to modify the cutouts because they were not done correctly by the original door lock installers. The programming was easy and works flawlessly. I used two plates and one insert with the brushes to create a pass through on the kickplate of my screened room. The opening is large enough for a grounded electrical plug to pass through. A wall plate makes the perfect template for drilling the holes and rectangular cutout. I used a nut and bolt on top and bottom to hold it all together. The brush material is decent. The frame fits all boxes if they are set deep. Otherwise for old work boxes you might have to trip some plastic. Larger plates fit the brush frame.
