Description

The Vater brand was officially established in November of 1991, but the Vater family history with drumsticks started decades earlier, in the basement of boston's legendary Jack's drum Shop. There, Alan and Ron's grandfather jack Adams, hand turned drumsticks for the drummers like Buddy rich as early as 1956. In the early to mid 1980's, the Vater Brothers began producing private- label drumsticks alongside sticks for Vic Firth and Zildjian. A few years of this LED to the brothers deciding to move their business to a new factory in Holbrook mA. Over the past decade, the Vater family and product line has expanded greatly, introducing innovative products such as the splash stick and acoustic, and welcoming renowned drummers like Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland, and Josh freeze. At Vater, our goal is simple. . . To produce the very best drumsticks and percussion accessories in the world.

  • The only sticks I use
Size: -inch Color: Natural
(drummer of 27 years) I play drums daily and at church and I ran upon these sticks at a conference and had to find & try them out I did here on Amazon. My review is. -They are well balanced, strong, do not break or chip easy as I thought as I never used Vater before always Vic Firth. The extra 1/2 does balance the sticks out nice. A pair of sticks will last 2 weeks played daily on average. I don't get paid to buy these sticks ..I pay full price and these are the only 5A stick I use now. I been playing drums for 27 yrs and this is my honest review on these sticks. ... show more

  • I have found my new stick
Size: -inch Color: Natural
I was using Vic Firth extreme 5A Nylon for years. I tried these on a whim. I LOVE THEM!!! I have played with them now for three weeks. Barley any nicks or chips. The Vic's would have been replaced twice by now. Great Product Vater!!!!

  • LARGE STICKS WITH STEEP TAPER FOR HIGH VOLUME
Size: -inch Color: Natural
Caution: these sticks are large sized with a very steep taper. If you need sticks which give you a nice ride bounce and subtle snare work, these are not it! Size wise, these sticks are more like a concert snare stick, or a Buddy Rich stick. They call these sticks the Gospel Series 5A, but they are the largest 5a style stick I've ever seen. They are very close to an Ian Paice style and size stick for heavy playing, with lots of front end heft. If you need a beefy stick for high volume in a non mic setting, or outdoor concert setting, these might just do the trick, otherwise, don't waste your money. ... show more

  • If You're a Light Player, These Are For You
Size: -inch Color: Natural
Title says it all, really. Bought these to try out because I really like Vater products, but these were the weakest pair of sticks that I've ever received from them. Didn't even last one church service. For hickory sticks, I expected them to last a lot longer than they did, but they felt more like maple sticks and played like them as well. I'll stick to my Pro Rocks or Super 5As from Vater for now. ... show more
