These are my favorite sticks. Recently I went through and bought just about one of each comparable sticks from Vater on through every other stick maker I could find and I found myself poorer and right back to this model. Nice long reach, heavy but not too heavy, thick but not too thick. This isn't all the way up to tree-trunk weight, but it's not dainty either. Only draw back (and this is true of all brands I've tried) is that they aren't always matched into weight pairs. I'm crazy OCD and I weigh my sticks and the weight will vary pretty wide between pairs and even between two sticks paired together. I do wish that Vater would print the weight of the stick on the stick so you could really only purchase the ones that are the right weight for you (me). ... show more

I have been playing drums for many years. I have only just found my favorite drum sticks in these. I play on a Tama drum set that I converted into a completely electronic set. I used the Cake Pan build method for my drums and have tried just about every mesh head ever made. 3ply mesh is a load of nonsense. The Remo Silent Strokes are single ply and the best heads for this purpose. Back to the sticks. The weight and balance of these sticks is the absolute sweet spot for electronic drums with these heads. Not too heavy and not too light. I get perfect triggering every time. The 16.75” length allows me to sit farther back on my throne and reach every strike zone with precision. I am 5’9” and have a particular playing style so all of this is obviously super subjective. The diameter and hand feel is perfection for me. “Thicker” than a 5A and “thinner” than a 5B. They are dense too (without being overly heavy) so no worries about breaking in your first week of use. I've tried literally almost all sticks from zildjian, promark, Vicfirth and regal. These are my favorite out of all of the others. Best weight and balance. Heavy but not too heavy. Awesome tip. I got the nylon as well for the cymbals and both are flawless. So far they are the most durable as well. They don't chip compared to the others either. Try em. Buy em. Love em. ... show more
