I bought these to replace a pair of Breeze lows, because I liked the color and wasn't thrilled with the new Breeze colors. I have loved 3 pairs of Breeze lows so far (and 2 pairs of Breeze Mids), and thought the switch to the Talus would be fine. Not so - I move about 15,000 steps per day, some hiking through woods and fields, some pavement, some lawns, and I never sit down. ( I am a professional dog trainer) From the start, the fit was a bit large. I began to suffer severe heel pain and pain in my outer soles. The pain would subside during the day, but flare up after a day of wearing these shoes. I tried heel cups, new inserts, but finally gave up on these shoes. What an expensive pity! I can't understand why the same company would not have a standard to its sizing and performance. ... show more

I received a recommendation from family about this brand. I need low cut as high cut boots cause discomfort for my ankles. These hiking boots are amazing!! Since I am teleworking, I wore the shoes around the house, for the pre"break in". I went hiking and the shoes were comfortable, sturdy, (it was a post snow/rain hike) and appropriate for the climate and hiking conditions. Picture won't upload so can't show you :) ... show more

The toe box seemed tight. I ordered the size I have always worn but could not break them in. Pain on the upper side of my foot. Perhaps a larger size?

    • Can’t seem to get them comfortable on my feet. The inside stitching is hitting my toe.

I’ve had two other similar Vasquez hiking shoes.....wonderful. I’ve tried to break these in, but the stitching is hitting my right big toe....I’ll even tried thicker socks. I kept thinking they would break in, but they hurt my feet too much. Wish I would of returned them.

Excitedly opened my shoe box only to be disappointed. Someone crushed the toe area of the left shoe. Looks as though they were testing how hard the sole was. Needless to say, it left the shoe much different from the other. I’m returning them.
