  • Good boot but the top lace notches are a little close
Size: 13 Color: Dark Slate/Tawny Olive
I have worn these boots for a little over 6 months now. I've worn them from hiking in the desert around Las Vegas to alpine lakes in Wyoming and everything in between. They are waterproof and they fit very well out of the box. They have held up well and the sole and stiching is all still in great shape. I only have a couple minute complaints about this model is specific. 1. The notches at the top you put your laces through when you leave them all the way up are way too close together when you tighen the boot up. Like almost touching. This will cause the laces to sometimes some off if you leave slack in them to start your tying. Kinda annoying but not a deal breaker as they stay laced even in very rough terrain. I'm using the stock laces as well. Aftermarket ones might be better? Still wouldn't change the fact the notches come really close together. 2. The boot is not insulated AT ALL. Several times I'd thought they were compromised while walking through cold wet grass thinking my socks were soaked only to find that they were just very cold and not wet. My next pair will be insulated but that's really something you should buy more toward what and where you plan to use the boots at. When I'm not out exploring in these boots I'm wearing them almost everyday working on concrete floors. They hold up well and with the right insoles will treat your feet right. Over all I like vasque and I'll be trying a few of their other boots as well. ... show more

  • Vasque Boots
Size: 13 Color: Dark Slate/Tawny Olive
As with some of the other reviews mentioned the boots were hard to lace up due to the hooks at the top allowed the laces to come out while tying them . This is easily remedied by carefully squeezing the hooks a little more closed. This was done carefully as they'll probably break if they were forced too far. You'll have to just as carefully use a flat blade screwdriver to pry gently open if you squeezed them too far, just so the laces snap into place and snap out to unlace the boots. Once I accomplished this I wore them out on a rocky mountainous trail and they passed all the tests that I put them through, great boots for now! ... show more

  • Perfect fit… BUT blue/gray color turned kaki brown.
Size: 10.5 Color: Dark Slate/Tawny Olive
Love this boots. But gave it a 4 star in durability because the “blue gray” color faded within a month and now it’s like dirty brown… should have bought the brown ones instead… so, if you are reading this don’t buy the blue ones. Go with the browns…

  • Very flexible
I've owned Vasque boots for decades and think quality has declined as production has moved from Italy to other places. That said, my hiking has gone from going to the tops of mountains to going around them. These boots will be adequate for an upcoming hike trip to central Italy. Pros - lightweight and flexible - well suited to hikes on paths with few rocks and other obstacles Cons - lightweight and flexible - not suited to a rugged mountain hike or backpacking The insoles are terrible. If you want good support, you'll need to spend another $50 for a decent insole which is what I did. I think next time I'll be buying Keen which comes with a decent insole. ... show more

  • Pretty good Boot, still Narrow
Size: 12 Wide Color: Dark Earth/Avocado
The style of this Vasque boot is great. It doesn't look like a moon shoe or some neon diabetic shoe prescribed by a doctor. It is a great traditional style. It is sturdy but lightweight. It is interesting that the material keeps the foot very cool - almost like having an air conditioner on your foot. But it seems solid and water resistant. I ordered the wide and like most shoes, it is still rather narrow in the foot bed. It does not have any cushioning other than the rather hard rubber tread and a paper thin insert. The laces seem always to be in the way and under the shoe when you're trying to lace them around the hooks. Great design except for being a little annoying in fit, cushioning, and lacing. ... show more

  • Very comfortable!
These boots were comfortable right out of the box. I did change the laces from the original flat ones to round ones. They offer good support and good trail traction. Before any long hikes, I plan to wear them casually for a few days.

  • Not, repeat, not waterproof everywhere.
Size: 10 Color: Dark Earth/Avocado
Will be returning this $150.00 item only after first use. Unfortunately, it is not completely waterproof. Simply, I had the chance to use it two days(2/24/23) ago during this last heavy rain storm thinking the Vasque brand has me covered. Unfortunately after approximately one hour of use, some of my toes felt moist. I took photos and verified that the sole insert was indeed wet in the toe box area of the right shoe and the left shoe also showed a wet area however only under the big toe area. My socks were also wet in the toe area. To be clear, this was not sweat. Also, the outer shell clearly absorbed water instead of repelling it. I realize the claim that there is a thin layer of impermeable fabric that also allows some degree of breathability under the leather outer layer, but whats the point, if it does not function in the toe area??? I liked the fact it has the Vibram soles that are so durable but I purchased this item mainly for the featured claims of being fully waterproof. I can not in good conscience, recommend this product based on this one-time experience. ... show more

  • Vasque boots always work for me!
Size: 8.5 Color: Dark Earth/Avocado
Vasque boots always work for me! I have been wearing Vasque boots for many years! I do Mountain hiking and lots of short hikes around home. Most of the terrain is rocky and dirt. I have loved each pair I have owned. My favorite ones were the Skywalker which has been discontinued! It has been my all-time favorite and wish I could get it again. These boots were comfortable out of the box and after wearing them around the house I’ve worn them on several hikes now and they have been terrific with no foot pain. I love the color and the Contrasting laces. Only one complaint, they make my feet hot. ... show more

  • The quality is exceptional.
Size: 12 Color: Dark Slate/Tawny Olive
I've been using Vasque hiking shoes for over 30 years and have had multiple styles. This style is lighter weight than the old - full leather Vasque - but there is no loss of quality with these new materials. I need boots that I don't have to break in and after my first hike I can say they fit and perform as I had expected. ... show more

  • Lacing hooks
Size: 11 Color: Dark Earth/Avocado
This is my second pair of Vasque Talus. I love the first pair and still wear them occasional, but they are showing their age. So I bought a second pair. I really like the Vasque Talus...but the new pair has one issue that really annoys me. The top two lacing hooks are mounted too close to the edge of the uppers...giving very little lace pull. I hope Vasque will address at this design issue. ... show more

Week long elk hunt- These boots had 30 plus miles out on them. I wore them right out of the box and went. There was no break in period needed. It’s the first pair of boots I’ve spent money on, and I’m glad I did. My feet stayed dry and warm- Will buy this brand again.

  • See written review to manufacturer
Size: 10 Wide Color: Dark Slate/Tawny Olive
Vasque needs to redo top catches for the speed laces. catches are too short and don’t have a reverse on the back side of the catch like previous models. Laces come out of top catches easily.

  • Not as sturdy as expected
Size: 10.5 Color: Dark Slate/Tawny Olive
These boots are a little too flimsy. More like a cheap sneaker than a hiking boot.
