Hello, I have four elementary aged children. Let’s face it finding the right backpack that’s affordable is outrageous. Three years ago my wife said she wanted something the kids could use for at least two years as expenses with back to school were outrageous. We found these. Our older kids were not happy about it (1st and 2nd grade) so we got iron on patches and sewed them on. Added their initials. Backpacks were personalized. They will be using the same backpacks this upcoming school year (3rd and 4th grade.) THERE ARE NO HOLES. Let’s face it any backpack that can last through two very different children (one with LOTS of books, the other with Baseballs and footballs hidden within.) through most of their elementary years is worth the investment. We bought the same bags for our younger kids this year. Next year the older kids will get new ones and these retired as over night bags. This brand has gotten loyal customers throughout my kids school years. We got simple black ones because we also go the patches. But the different pattern options are awesome.

Had this backpack for 5 years now and have taken it with me everywhere. Great for school and traveling. Water resistance is not the best as it can get slightly wet with continuous or extremely heavy rain, but does a great job protecting its contents against light showers, normal rainfall, and accidental spills.

It's a good backpack to start college off with. Inexpensive and simple, perfect to start school on a budget. Be sure to buy little organizer kits for your electronics and school supplies since it can be a little frustrating digging through the large pocket to find a pencil. Other than that, it's a good purchase if you want to start school on a budget.

Purchased the Mermaid Scale pattern for my tough on things 1st grader. She loves it and lasted the last half the school year so far and is still usable in the fall. The only complaint I have is the side pocket for water bottles is a TIGHT fit. I have to wiggle it in for her every morning and it takes some time but she isn't able to do it herself.
