So easy to put together that I let my toddler help me. The instructions were easy to follow even for me and I’m usually terrible at these things. It came with a screw driver but it’s not very good so I just used my own. The holes aligned perfectly and we plan to use it as a toy chest. The size is as pictured and so far it doesn’t wobble and can hold plenty. Love it! ... show more

I bought this storage chest based on very few reviews. But VASAGLE chests in general were getting good ratings, so why not? I can begin by saying I’m VERY happy with this chest. The box itself is large and heavy (45”x21”, 17.1 kg / 37.7 lbs, as stated on the box). However, the sections of the chest were very well packed and also well marked with small, letter-based stickers for assembly. (Only one tiny corner of the base section was damaged during packing/shipping, and this was inconsequential to the looks and functionality.) The chest came with all of the required hardware including a few extra parts, and the directions were very easy to follow. I found the main screw holes well made and aligned perfectly. (Yea!, since I did NOT want to have to repack this box and send it back.) One bit of advice: use your own tools if you have them; the ones supplied in such products usually fail on practicality. That said, I did have to drill out a few small holes for the hinge screws (not a big deal). Three hours, two sore forearms, and one slightly pinched finger later I had the thing completely assembled. The only significant gripe I have about this VASAGLE chest are the spring hinges for the lid; they don’t retract enough to let the lid rest on the frame unless you add some weight on top of the lid itself. (The spring hinges might improve over time, or I might just remove them altogether.) I would give this product a 4.5 Stars rating, but unfortunately I can’t select just half a star (lol). So I’ll rate this 5 Stars, especially considering that I got this model on sale, and hope folks understand that there might be a few very minor issues with an otherwise great looking and very handy storage chest. (This chest is sometimes referred to as a “Shoe Bench”. Not sure why. It’s a storage chest. But a rose by any other name … ) ... show more

I loved this item when I first received it. I used it for my toddlers toy chest. It was amazing. Held so many toys and was so easy for her to open and close and never ever slammed on her little fingers. Not to mention it looks amazing in my living room. But after only a few months of owning this product the chest no longer closes fully. it will not close past what the picture shows. There’s no toys or anything stopping it from closing. It’s Very disappointing ... show more

This is a low use, wear susceptible basic box. Won't last a week in a kid's room if used as a toy chest. Fortunately, not my use case. Basic melamine white MDF boards, 15mm lid, 12mm side panels. Dowel connectors for all corners and the bottom connector/brace -- backed up with screw/bolts. Thin MDF floor, slides in along 5mm grove. Hinge hardware is adequate to keep the lid up, doesn't prevent slamming closed. I did use glue in the floor groves and the dowels to minimize joint creak and creep and overall separation. I recommend that addition to the assembly. Slippery to assemble, use caution or you could snap or rip out the cross brace in the first couple of steps. ... show more

It’s fine for the price. I bought two and the first one was easy to put together no issues, when opening the second one the pieces are scuffed up and really dirty. The Allen wrench and screw driver provided was worthless as only one side of the Allen wrench fit and the screw driver is a flat head instead of a Phillips. ... show more
