This checked all the boxes we were looking for. Metal shoe rack, no cubbies, sturdy hooks, top shelf, and no bars or obstructions along the ends as we have a large space and wanted to put two together an not have anything along the edge breaking up the benchs. They were easy and fun to put together. You can do it alone, but it was easier with two people. The best freaking coat rack i could've bought! Seriously. This thing holds so much weight, and doesn't even begin to bend, warp, or tip. Super easy to build. I'm a single mom, 5'3"-- not a big person and I did it with my 3 year old "helping" me. And two other kids observing and mixing up screws here and there. Put it together in about 30 minutes, maybe less. I looked at hundreds of different models, read a ton of reviews, and finally settled on this one. Left it in my cart for a few days, mulling it over and, at last, ordered it. SO GLAD I DID. Arrived quickly, bought for a great deal. And now my entry way is ORGANIZED. With not a lot of space and two kids in school in an area where you always have to dress in layers, it was a much needed investment. Couldn't ask for a better experience. 10/5 stars ... show more

I put these together without any assistance. I didn’t know if I still could because I have arthritis in my hands, and can’t lift or carry as much as I used to. All the parts were included, along with an extra of each size screw. Everything fit together well. I had to wiggle it a bit to get some of the screws lined up. The only thing that I would change is in the instructions. They show to leave the screws loose in step 2. Words would be helpful there. I also left everything loose before all the pieces were attached. I think that helped make the assembly easier. I have confidence that these coatracks will hold my plants for a long time. If anyone is trying to figure out what I’m growing, there are cape gooseberries, amaryllis, and a Sungold tomato growing from a cutting. I’ll be planting radishes in a pot for the empty spot. ... show more

This really is a great coat-rack/shoe storage for your mudroom or wherever you need to use it. The semi-steampunk industrial look is very appealing and the piece is super sturdy even with eight or nine of my big-guy coats hanging on it. It is however, value furniture and shortcuts have been taken to ensure that value-price. 1. Both of the standards on each end of the item are drilled from the same side. This isn't a huge deal other than the fact that you can only countersink the screws on one side of the piece. The other side cannot. No one will ever see this flaw but as the somewhat OCD owner who put it together, I know about it, and it's truthfully driving me up the wall. 2. Do not use a power screwdriver when installing the mounting hardware onto the bench seat. I did and the receptor for the screw that was already in the bench started turning too without me knowing it and I now have a slightly raised section in the dead center of my bench where it tried to go all the way through before I figured out what was going on. Again, I realize this is value furniture but those two things kinda hurt the value part for me. For what you get, this should be priced WAY lower than what it is. Again, not a bad piece. When you shortcut it into the ground and then charge premium, you run the risk of someone like me only buying the one piece. I love the style and hoped to buy several of the other pieces to match it because they really are nice looking. Not going to happen now. ... show more

This was relatively easy to put together and has held up extremely well (we've been actively using it for about a year). We keep a lot of stuff on the hooks/mesh rack (bags, coats, hats, etc) and always have both shelves full of shoes, and it remains sturdy even though it's not anchored to the wall. It only hold about 3-4 pairs of shoes per shelf, and sometimes I find myself wishing it was a little bit longer, but even then it works for what I need and the fact that it's so sturdy and still cute outweighs any other small gripes i might have. ... show more

I was really determined to find a rack of hooks for my entryway with brass hardware to match the light fixtures in my front room and ended up purchasing this to also replace my shoe shelf. The fact that it also has an upper shelf and bench is a godsend. It looks so much neater than my old entryway storage system and comfortably fits everything I need for going to/from work, dog walks, etc very efficiently. As others mentioned, it is indeed very compact which is a relief since I worried about a hall tree making my entryway crowded. As others mentioned, some of the pilot holes for the hook screws are uneven but this is easy to rectify by angling the screws a little as you put them in and twisting the hooks as needed. I mean, this is coming from the amazon version of ikea, so not shocking there would be something like that. But overall, for the price I am really thrilled with the value. ... show more
