I bought it in white. Sturdy, functional , directions very easy, it did take more than an hour but worth. All tools provided, only advice you don’t need to screw in the file bars inside the draw to tight. It will poke a hole in front of the draw and crack the wood. Very good quality item for the price...this is my second Vasagle purchase and I'm very pleased with their products! (move over outrageously priced Sauder, Bush, etc!). It was relatively simple to assemble BUT way to many pieces of hardware...seems the manufacturer could streamline this in some ways. Instructions were basically photographic, minimal print to read really, but diagrams were clear and easy to follow. Very durable filing cabinet. Finish is true to the pictures also. Although the assembly instructions were easy to understand, I found it to be very time-consuming and difficult to screw the wooden components together with a screw driver. I finally had to ask an friend with a power drill to drive the screws into the pre-drilled holes in the wood pieces. Now that it is fully assembled, it is a great file cabinet. I read reviews like everyone else, and inevitably there are bad, even nightmarish reviews on all products. I don't do a ton of reviews, but I was so impressed with this product, that I thought I should relate my experience. I'll stick to the facts: *The packaging was adequate. No damage, or close to damage, in my case. *All the required parts were included. There was nothing missing. They included a few extra's that were even labeled as "extra".. a nice touch. *All the screws, hardware, components, etc. were clearly labeled. *The instructions were typical of any assembly type product. You have to orient the parts >exactly< as they are in the pictures during assembly,,, I use a magnifying glass to get all the details. *The assembly went smoothly,,, all the parts fit well together, and everything lined up. The only (minor) glitch I had was the file holder rods.. they are designed to screw into the drawer fronts. 2 of 4 rods could not be hand tightened. I had to use a pliers to turn them in. *The end product is very attractive, and functional. *I worked on the file cabinet part of 2 days, but I would estimate as others have about 2 hours, maybe a little more. But no frustrations during the process IF you follow the steps precisely. I have done quite a few assemblies like this over the years, and I'm very familiar with how these types of products are put together. That certainly helped. I once had a desk that took me the better part of 2 days to put together, (and did have some frustrations with it) that desk was a significant challenge,,, comparatively, this file cabinet was on the easier end of the scale to put together. At the end of the day, this is a sharp looking, very functional file cabinet. Lastly, no, I did not receive any promo's, or any other incentives on this.     • Sturdy, Stable, and it Looks Great!

I needed a file cabinet and this one seemed to be the right one. However, after reading the negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant. Problems included manual and video not accurate, wrong size of screws, not sturdy or stable, missing pieces, one reviewer had to call a handyman to assembly and took him 6 hours!! Well, fortunately I didn’t experience any of those problems, all screws were there in separate bags clearly labeled, manual and video were consistent, every hole was predrilled (except for the back panel where predrilling is not needed, you just screw in the 8 plastic “clips”). The file cabinet is stable and everything works as intended. You don’t have to be a handyperson to assemble this cabinet, but you need time without rushing. Plan on spending at least 2 hours. It’s crucial to follow closely the step-by-step instructions of the video and/or manual. If you don’t, in addition to frustration, you will also have a wobbly file cabinet with drawers that won’t close correctly. With that said, if assembling things is not your forte, I’d buy a preassembled one. Good luck! ... show more

Assembly directions were pictorial and basically easy to follow. Attaching side panels to the base and top was completed by metal screw posts and pegs. One hole that was to receive a metal post was not deep enough by about an inch. I contacted company but never heard back. It is assembled without that corner post. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Below is my original review of the first purchase. I’m updating the pictures to show that the assembly pieces are now better packed, the little screwdriver is more sturdy, and I ordered a different color this time. Aug- 2024: After months of reading mixed reviews, I finally decided to buy this filing cabinet. My desk was cluttered, and I needed something to organize it. The cabinet arrived in good condition, and I appreciate that the Amazon delivery driver handled it with care. Assembly was fairly easy and took about an hour. I recommend laying out all the pieces in order before starting and only taking out the screws and bolts as you need them. Overall, I’m satisfied with the product. It’s not the most durable, but if treated with care, it should last a couple of years. Most importantly, it does the job of keeping my desk organized. ... show more
