  • Nice quality desk
Color: Walnut Top / Black Legs Size: 72 in x 30 in
Love this desk, easy to assemble. Great quality and looks great. Stability is great, no issues. Attached monitor bracket with no issues. Moves up and down nicely. Nice quality desk worth the money.

  • Solid as can be, simple assembly, NOT a lightweight! Solid as can be, simple assembly, NOT a lightweight!
First: yes, you will love this desk. Everything about it feels like high-end corporate-grade furniture - because it is. All the edges are rounded and the materials are absolutely solid and heavy. A word on that later. First, assembly: It literally could not have been any easier. Four bolts that are made of high-quality machine steel on each side, two hold the leg to the surface, two hold the feet to the legs. One of the big reasons I shelled out the bucks for this was the comments on how easy it was to assemble. Absolutely lived up to the promise. Second: Not injuring yourself while assembling or placing this terrific desk. It weighs something like 160 pounds. Get a friend, get someone, just to help you move it around. It's simply too heavy and unwieldy for one person to do - this is NOT cheap, fall-apart-in-six-months furniture, this is the kind that two burly installers set up in office buildings. Third: Take a few minutes to put your computer, monitor(s), keyboard where you think you'll like them, but don't cable them up yet. Think about different tasks you do - do you need room for a notepad, a book, that other laptop or tablet? Here comes the fun part. Raise the desk up near its maximum height. Do you have an office chair that adjusts in height a bit? I bet you do. Lower it a bit, and you now have the world's most comfortable mechanical creeper. Now, take a big ol 8 or 10 outlet power strip and use some double-sided hook and loop tape to put it close to the side where you'll plug into an outlet. Then start with the other things. That ugly docking station for the laptop. The power bricks for it, for your monitor, whatever. Fasten those things to the bottom of the surface, because now you can route all of those cables and they can stay neatly out of sight. Get yourself a roll of hook-and-loop cable fastener (a couple are included with the desk). I ended up with exactly two cables going from the desk to the wall - one for power, one for network (I also stuck an 8-port network switch to the bottom, they're cheap and you will be grateful NEVER HAVING TO LOOK AT A FLOOR COVERED WITH SPAGHETTI AGAIN. That's the unexpected benefit of this desk. I got back all of the floor area under it and next to it that used to have an ugly mass of HDMI, power, USB, and network cables. I wanted to knock off one star on cost just because it's not cheap. This is one of the most expensive desks on the market. But in the end, I really got what I paid for: No surprises at all, no shortcuts, no "hope you have a cabinet full of power tools". In 20 minutes, I went from two boxes to playing with the height. That fast. So yeah, it was a very expensive purchase, but I expect to get a lot of use out of it and I simply can't find anything to complain about. Oh, just go ahead and buy it already. ... show more

  • Excellent quality. Exactly what I needed.
Color: Reclaimed Wood / Slate Legs Size: 72 in x 30 in
My chiropractor told me if I did not quit sitting for long periods of time that my sciatic nerve pain would become a permanent condition. I am a software developer stuck to a desk for 8 hours a day and that was a difficult thing to hear. So, I went looking for solutions and after several hours of research and reviewing more options than I can remember, I found this desk. I was hesitant to spend so much money when there were so many other less expensive options. However, I kept coming back to this one for several reasons. It was the right width and length to replace my existing desk, the style matched my office, the testimonial videos I watched on YouTube reassured me of the quality, and finally I found out a coworker had the exact same desk and they were above and beyond satisfied with it. I placed my order and a couple of days later it arrived, well packaged in 2 boxes. One for the table top and one for the legs, controls, etc. Assembly was minimal and very easy. You need 2 people to turn the desk upright and position it so don't try it by yourself or you risk injury. Now that it is setup, all I can say is that this desk is amazing. The look, the quality, the sturdiness and the smoothness of the height adjustment is flawless. There is absolutely nothing about this desk that I can criticize. It is heavy, built with solid steel legs, but that just makes it feel solid, like a real piece of fine furniture. I am typing this review while standing at my new desk and it feels good and I absolutely love it. ... show more

  • YES! YES! Great desk
Color: Reclaimed Wood / Slate Legs Size: 72 in x 30 in
I recently purchased a sit-stand desk, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment of purchase, the service was outstanding, with the desk arriving in just two days, securely and thoughtfully packaged to ensure it arrived in pristine condition. Assembly was a breeze, taking no more than 20 minutes from unboxing to full setup. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, making the whole process hassle-free. The desk itself is a marvel of craftsmanship. It's incredibly sturdy and well-made, giving you a sense of durability and reliability that matches its premium price tag. The aesthetics are just as impressive, with a design and finish that truly reflect its value. It's evident that a lot of thought went into creating a desk that's not only functional but also pleasing to the eye. In terms of value, while this desk isn't the cheapest option available, it's a prime example of getting what you pay for. If you're someone who spends countless hours at your desk, investing in this sit-stand desk is a decision you won't regret. It's not just a piece of furniture; it's an investment in your comfort, health, and productivity. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you're in the market for a sit-stand desk, do yourself a favor and consider this one. It's a game-changer that will undoubtedly enhance your working experience. ... show more

  • Sturdy, smooth, quiet, heavy, wide
Awesome. Very sturdy, much longer than others and deep. Nice cut out for cables in back. Super sturdy and quiet motors that teleconferencing folks can't hear. Thick steel legs and motors are inside legs. This leaves more room under the desk, not just for your legs but for filing cabinets or other things. Cheaper ones have a single motor and the motor is mounted underneath the desk and can bump into your leg and take up space. Super easy to assemble but should use another person to flip to save your back as you install everything upside down. I was able to flip myself, and it is sturdy enough to do by yourself. The only negatives I've found are: The top is smooth-ish, but my laptop is missing the rubber nubs and has made a few black marks as I've moved it. Without a mousepad, the mouse picks up crunchy dust bits occasionally. If you raise the desk and it pulls the cord out of the wall outlet, it loses its position memory and you have to go through a reset process. It's easy, but annoying. It has to redefine how high the desk is above the floor. When standing, the desk is a bit "sharp" against my gut at one level since the front is beveled. Looks good, but rounded would have been better on the front. The cables from the tray can drop down and hit your legs on the lowest setting. I suggest getting some zip ties on installation, for the cable trays and power cable. Also, buy the cable organizer and place a power strip in it behind the center. Buddy bought a knockoff from Costco and it's much less steel legs, much less table thickness, and less length and width. If you are going to be using this for a home office, spend the money and get this one. I have a desk lamp, power station, two monitors, and still have room for a printer, a few legal pads, a separate keyboard, and all my mail and files. If you use it 4 hours a day, you will be thrilled. He extra depth let's laptop users have a separate keyboard in front and still be able to rest your arms on the desk. Excellent product. ... show more

  • Exceeds expectations in every way
Color: Reclaimed Wood / Slate Legs Size: 60 in x 30 in
I couldn't be happier with this desk. The build quality is very high, especially for the price. Very sturdy, solid motor actuation feel, and looks great! Assembly was very easy (took me less than 10 minutes total), and consists only of a few short steps. The instructions are very clear and well written (rare these days). There are several nice yet unexpected touches as well, such as full-size allen wrenches for assembly (including a ball head on one end). Usually, I throw out the junk wrenches that manufacturers include for assembly (when provided) but in this case, I used what Vari provided and appreciated saving me a trip to my toolbox. Vari also pre-drill pilot holes if want to move the controller to the left side of the desk, as personal preference. They also include a silicon drink coaster, some velcro cable ties, and two plastic hooks that can be used for hanging headphones, cables, whatever. (The hooks themselves are heavy, high-quality plastic and sandwich the table edge, so can be easily positioned or repositioned as needed). The only things to be aware of are that (1) the desk arrives in two boxes and (2) the table and legs are heavy. In my case, the tabletop arrived before the other box containing legs, controller, instructions, etc. It arrived very quickly via FedEx on a Saturday -- so Kudos to Vari for getting it out and expedited shipping, which was unexpectedly fast -- but not realizing there was another shipment, I was left wondering if an error on Vari's part or on my part for not seeing that I had only purchased a tabletop. The situation self-corrected itself later that day when I received a FedEx shipping notification for another shipment, realizing only then that I had received a partial shipment. The tabletop and the legs are heavy, which goes hand-in-hand with the quality of this desk. Unless you're a strong person, you'll probably want to seek help setting up this desk. Once set up, it's easy to slide around if on a hard surface since it has nice, large plastic feet (am able to easily slide it around on my hardwood floor without scratching -- but at your own risk if try for yourself). ... show more

  • So absolutely happy I spent the money! That said → here are a few things you need to know…
Color: Reclaimed Wood / Slate Legs Size: 60 in x 30 in
I started a full-time work from home situation in February 2020. After recognizing that I needed a dedicated desk and putting it off for OVER A YEAR, I finally splurged and got this desk. It was the best decision I could have made. I've had this desk for almost 6 months and still I rank it as one of my top purchases ever. (I spend A LOT of time at my desk.) After looking at a bunch of desks, I decided on this one for a few reasons: • 30 day free returns - If I'm spending several hundred dollars, I want to make sure that I really get to try it out before I am stuck with a desk that I'll likely have for a decade or two • 5 year warranty - when I buy things, I buy them for the long haul. If this desk comes with a 5 year warranty, it gives me confidence that the manufacturer stands behind their product • American made - I've gotten burned by cheap Chinese knockoffs in the past. I could have saved a couple of hundred bucks up front, but then been stuck with a desk that stops working right after the 90 day warranty runs out (yeah, some of them only come with 90 day warranties!) Ok, on to the positives: • The desk is SOLID. Maybe I've just gotten used to cheap, light, modern furniture, but this desk has a heft that just screams QUALITY • Easy to assemble - I built it myself in about 30 minutes. • Reliable - yes, I've only had it 6 months, but I raise and lower it multiple times per day and it hasn't given me a single problem yet • Beautiful - I got the reclaimed wood finish. It looks gorgeous and fits perfectly with my office decor. There is ONE IMPORTANT THING you need to know before you get this desk: The "finish" is just a printed laminate that goes over some type of particleboard or plywood. The desk top itself is not actually "reclaimed wood" or whatever finish you are selecting when you order. Maybe this was obvious to some, but before I bought it, I wasn't sure. I know reclaimed wood is super expensive, so I kind of figured it couldn't be real reclaimed wood. But at the same time, there was nothing in the description that indicated this... so I was in suspense until the desk arrived. Why this is important: When you look at it close up, especially when it wraps around the corners, it's glaringly obvious that this is imitation wood grain and not a real finish. But apart from aesthetic reasons, if you want a smooth surface to write on, this is not your desk. The surface is ever so slightly imperfect (kind of imitating real wood grain), such that it will feel "gritty" when you write on it. If you are writing on a single sheet of paper, you may even see the "texture" of the desk surface come through in your writing. Not a deal killer for me, but I do wish I had known about it ahead of time. I don't write very much on my desk and I can just get a desk mat — problem solved. One other thing I just thought of... If you fold your legs when you sit, the bar that runs along the underside of the desk (providing structure to the desk and connecting the two legs to each other) could get in your way. It really depends on how you sit. Totally not a deal killer, but again, something you won't notice until you get the desk, so I figured I'd mention it. Those things said, I could not be happier with this desk. I absolutely love it, I spend 10 or more hours a day here and I'm able to sit at various heights, stand, squat and go from one to the other with total ease. Oh, speaking of squatting... For those of you into fitness, yoga, natural movement, etc... this desk goes so low that when I lower it to it's lowest setting, I can squat and use it without having to stand on any kind of riser. That's super important this day in age, since we as a society are starting to realize that "sitting is the new smoking" (Google it if you haven't heard of that before) ... show more

I like my Vari desk a great deal. Being able to raise and lower the desk top is great. You can find the perfect height any time. It assembles fairly easily but will take a little time. The only downside is that the desk is very heavy. You assemble upside down, then have to flip the desk over. I recommend a second set of hands to do this. The material for the desktop and legs is of high quality. There was nothing about the desk that I thought felt cheap. I have used this for almost 5 years now, and it still looks as good as the day I assembled it. The motor still works flawlessly. I was able to clamp dual monitor stands, a boom microphone, and a laptop stand very easily. The desk is the perfect size for me. ... show more
