Features

  • Built-In Soil Core Collector: Vanpein manual lawn aerator tool features a sturdy iron tray that collects soil plugs as you work. This innovative design eliminates the messy cleanup of bending, raking, or brushing cores, saving significant time and effort in your yard care routine.
  • Effectively Reduces Soil Compaction: The coring tines penetrate compacted lawn soil to extract plugs, creating vital passageways for air, water, and nutrients to reach grass roots. This process is essential for reviving tired lawns, promoting deeper root growth, and achieving a thicker, greener turf. PRO TIP FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS:Water your lawn deeply 24 to 48 hours before aerating. If you have clay soil, applying a soil loosener after this watering will significantly improve core extraction.
  • Upgraded & Durable Construction: Built for lasting performance with a solid 2mm thick iron body and reinforced stress points. The 2026-upgraded sharp, coring tines ensure easier penetration into soil. A full-body rust-resistant coating protects this heavy duty handled garden tool season after season.
  • Ergonomic Design for Easy Use: The 38-inch T-handle and flat footplate provide superior leverage to reduce back strain, making it easier to aerate your lawn, garden, or yard. The non-slip, padded handle offers a secure and comfortable grip during extended use.
  • Complete Kit with Cleaning Tool: THE TROUBLESHOOTING TIP-Includes a hand cleaning rod to easily maintain the aerator tubes by removing stuck soil or small rocks. Simple assembly and our pro tips (like watering 24-48 hours prior) make this the ideal manual aeration tool for maintaining a healthy lawn efficiently.

  • Durable aerator!
Color: Black
The built-in soil core collector is a huge time-saver. It catches the plugs as I work, so I don't have to bend down and rake them up afterward. The T-handle and flat footplate gave me good leverage without straining my back, and the padded handle stayed comfortable even after aerating a larger section of my yard. The sharp coring tines penetrated my compacted soil more easily than I expected, especially after I watered the lawn a day before like the instructions suggested. The thick iron body feels sturdy and well-built, and the rust-resistant coating has held up well after multiple uses and storage outdoors. The included cleaning rod was useful for clearing out stuck soil from the tubes when they got clogged. Assembly was straightforward, and the tool didn't wobble or feel flimsy during use. Since aerating, I've noticed the grass looks healthier and the soil drains better after rain. For the price, it's a durable and efficient manual option that's made lawn care less of a chore. ... show more

  • Worth buying it! It gets the job done!
Good tool, but some cloagling in the tubes.

  • Very well made, very effective. Very well made, very effective.
Color: Black
This is very well constructed and finished. The metal is coated with a mat-black finish that looks solid and feels that it will withstand the elements. The 3 aerator coring spikes are fairly large and the whole tool is well made. Assembly can be done without instructions. It's that straight forward. I do like that the manufacturer includes an extra bolt and nut. That's a nice touch. Also included is a wrench and hex key tool. Assembly took less than 4 minutes. Once in your hand, this tool is heavy (in a good way) and stable. the grip is comfortable and stable. It aerates very effectively. I have a spike aerator also, but unlike the spike version, this creates holes in the soil, which our landscaper prefers, because it introduces a lot more surface area for oxygen. Those holes will also collect water better than the spike option. Aeration difficulty is dependent on the soil, not the tool. The tool works flawlessly to create nice plugs. At some point, the plugs may become stuck in the tool, but that's a result of the moisture level of the soil, not the tool. I've had good luck with this. It's a laborious process to aerate with plugs, but it's well worth it. Do yourself a favor and start with a small, finite space to aerate. Do the aeration in multiple sessions, not all at once. You can become sloppy at the end, and you don't want to aerate your toes in the process (trust me, I know). As far as quality of build and effectiveness, this tool is highly recommended. It's very well made. ... show more

  • Perfect for small projects Perfect for small projects
Color: Black
I’m very happy with this lawn aerator tool. The sturdy construction was noticeable right out of the box, and it feels durable enough to handle compacted soil without bending or struggling. Assembly was straightforward and only took a few minutes with the included hardware. What I like most is the soil core tray feature—it saves time because you don’t have to stop constantly to clean plugs out manually. The 38” handle length is comfortable to use and helps reduce back strain while working across the yard. The aerator pulls solid plugs from the ground and really helps loosen compacted soil so water and nutrients can reach the grass roots better. After using it, my lawn looked healthier and absorbed water much more evenly. Overall, this is an effective, easy-to-use lawn care tool that delivers great results. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to improve their yard without paying for expensive lawn services. ... show more

  • Build quality is great. It's a workout. Build quality is great. It's a workout.
Color: Black
Lawn was looking sad. Turns out, years of foot traffic and generally terrible soil had turned the backyard into concrete. This thing does aerate. No question. The tines are solid, and the little soil core tray is actually pretty useful. It doesn't hold all the plugs, but it saves you from bending over constantly to pick them up. The width is decent. And that’s where the “manual” part really hits home. Clay soil is heavy, and this aerator isn’t lightweight. Forget trying to use this on anything but reasonably softened ground. I tried on a dry, compacted patch, and I felt like I was wrestling an alligator. It worked, eventually, but it was a serious workout. Roots? This isn't going to slice through anything substantial. It'll mostly just bounce off. It's built for soil compaction, and that's where it shines. It created a lot of nice little holes, which I'm hoping will help with drainage and let some air get to the grass roots. Here’s the deal: for the price, it's a pretty solid tool if you have manageable soil and a willingness. Don't expect miracles on truly compacted ground... because it's a big workout. The build quality seems very good for the price; it's not flimsy at all. Value: Good. It's a simple tool that performs its basic function adequately. Would I recommend it? Yeah, to someone with a moderately compacted lawn and a bit of muscle. Just don't try to use it when everything's bone dry. ... show more

  • Always clogs

  • The tool works, but not quite well enough
Color: Black
The tool is made up of 3 pieces and bolt together by 4 screws. It feels very sturdy and easily put together. The concept is simple, I just sit on it to puncture the ground and pull it up to remove a plug that falls into the tray. The problem I’ve been having is that 1 to 2 of the holes consistently gets clog. I waste a lot of time having to unclog them. The plugs that extracts out are usually only 1-2 inches only. Im contemplating about whether or not it’s worth continuing to use this tool as it works, but at the same time, is not efficient. ... show more

  • Great for soil sample, or a workout.
Color: Black
Not much to it, but it works! This is going to be ideal for small area aeration, or if you really want a workout, like a 5000 sqft yard. Assembly was pretty easy and I didn't have any issues with misalignment on drilled holes or feel like the included hardware was too flimsy. took me a few minutes to put together but nothing crazy. You should be able to figure out the assembly without instructions - it's very straightforward (but instructions are in the box). Once the aerator is assembled, you bring it to the area you want, step on the cross bar to activate the spring load, and boom. You got 3 plugs of dirt. For the most part, the plugs eject cleanly into the bucket. There were a few times I had to clear a jam, but it still worked well. This is super ideal for taking soil samples with the catch tray or if you have very clay heavy soil and want to clean your plugs as you go (clay soil plugs make a lump lawn when they break down). Functionally speaking, if you're doing a large area, go to Home Depot and rent an aerator. It's gonna save a ton of time. This is ideal for a garden, small yards, or sampling. Use it for that and I think you'll be happy. ... show more
