After a literal lifetime of dealing with rashes and breakouts -- and not always in the most desirable places -- I finally had my dermatologist culture a rash within a skin fold. It turns out I didn't have psoriasis or jock itch; I have "contact dermatitis" triggered by fragrances and additives nearly omnipresent in skincare and household products alike (even those that are legitimately "natural" and sold as such at natural foods stores). I was told to change everything I used to clean, scent, and manage myself -- soaps, hair products, moisturizers, all of it. In the shower, this Vanicream cleansing bar is my daily bread and butter. I also use their shampoo, conditioner, antiperspirant, moisturizing cream, lotion, and liquid cleanser. These products have changed my life, and the creamy and luxurious cleansing bar leaves my body clean and moisturized. While once beset by rashes that could tear me open, I'm now rash-free, with my only "cheats" being rare uses of cologne when my confidence requires I smell like something other than nothing (my body forgives their use in those ultra-sporadic moments and gratefully doesn't rash up). For those with skin ailments, eliminating fragrances and additives can be the first step on a transformative path. It's a commitment, but it's doable. I was suffering from yet another round of contact dermatitis that required several rounds of steroids to clear up. I seem to be allergic to everything now! My dermatologist told me to use the Vanicream bar. This stuff is amazing! It does not cause itching, dryness, or red bumps on my skin. I even use it to wash my hair (I have a really short pixie), and it is allowing the dermatitis on my scalp (from the shampoo the salon used) to heal up. There is no residue when rinsed; it leaves everything clean and soft. After spending thousands on everything from unscented castile soap to super expensive "for sensitive skin" products, this has become my holy grail! ... show more
