Bought for my grandson's first year of school band, and after a few months of practice, it seems to be a good value. The purchase price was less than the cost of renting one from the school for just one semester. It seems to have good sound quality, and band director stated it is a great starter instrument. If the band thing works out, we will pass this on to someone else and look at a higher quality trumpet, but this seemed a great way not to lose alot of money if he ends up deciding to do something other than band. Let me start with a short back story. My daughter has this very trumpet in lime green has had it for about 2 years. With no problems absolutely love it. However marching band requires silver or brass putting us in the market for another trumpet. The first one we order came in damage and unplayable. Amazon was very quick to get it replaced. While we were waiting the 5 days for the replacement to come in she was offered a Vincent Bach. Anyone from the music world understands the stigma that comes with it. My daughter played both and ultimately like this one better to my surprise. And know owns 2 vangoas trumpets. The silver one, one of the pearl buttons caps fell off but that was a cheap and easy fix. The initial trumpet had a minor hiccup. The seller contacted me to make sure the order was as promised. I advised the issue and they fixed the situation right away.     • Needs better valve oil but still great for price
So for people complaining of sticky valves, it’s bc the instrument comes with cheap valve oil that doesn’t work. Every budget instrument comes with the cheap stuff. Replace it with a better brand like Yamaha and Blue Juice and keep it well oiled to prevent sticking from dryness. I find the instrument to be perfect for rookie band! ... show more
