I like these plates. I love the colors. They are a heavy weight and good dinner size plates. I took off 1 star because 1 plate was broken when they arrived but that’s really more of a fulfillment or delivery issue than manufacturer default. The only thing I would improve on is curving up the edges of the plate to keep foo from falling off. They are flat with just a raised rim. But they are a great value for the price. ... show more

I didn't get these for their elegance or matchiness or any of that jazz. I got them because they have sides, like a lip around the plate that is straight up. It's like a saucer, but really wide and flat! My hub has always been a bit of a child when it come to plates, dishes, whatever. I mean, no sippy cups or anything, but if he can have a divided plate or one like that that has a big edge around it, he's more than pleased. After 25+ years of marriage it's not really a complaint, but a mission to find plates that he'll like. Typically anything with an edge this pronounced is made of plastic, which is not elegant or durable. I am a little surprised by the weight of these. TWO POUNDS each! Wow. These plates are big, bold, and stylish, but they are not porcelain. I don't know if this is deception or just a sign that the seller needs to invest in someone with a better mastery of English. They are, in fact, very heavy (as in, carrying the package into the house felt like toting a box of bricks) stoneware, which is wonderful and lovely in itself, but not what you're expecting when you're expecting porcelain. It's also important to note that while these plates claim to be microwave safe, and they probably are in the short term, they are not nearly as resilient to the rapid temperature changes of a microwave as porcelain would be. Also, the glaze on one of mine was chipped when I got it. I think it must have been packaged this way as I didn't find the chip in the package. If the seller had advertised these correctly as stoneware plates, I would have given them an additional star. If they had been advertised correctly as stoneware plates *and* all six had arrived undamaged, I might very well have given them five stars. ... show more
