These ceramic plates are perfect. Needed something not too big for guests who were attending a brunch I was hosting and needed plates for the dessert course that were a good size for presentation. The plates arrived safely, they're very well packed. Very interesting design. They are durable, microwave and dishwasher safe. Nice porcelain plates, not heavy. The size (7.5oz) ideally fits for desserts. For pasta, you will need something bigger. I'm so happy with the purchase!

I have a plenty of larger, white dinner plates, but I wanted something a bit more unique and summery. These fit the bill well so far. They arrived securely packaged and without any damage, with a styrofoam shell and padding between each plate. It's worth noting that they came packaged directly in the manufacturer's box which lists the brand/contents, in case you're gifting them. Quality wise, they are weighty but not excessively so. I got the smaller size, which works well for small to moderate portion sizes. The curve/depth of the plate is great for comfortably holding things like pasta, salad, etc. without spills. There are nice natural variations in the pattern between plates. The "white" color option does have a gray blue tint. Durability wise, no issues so far with scratching or chipping from normal silverware or dishwasher use. The surface is smooth, so they are easy to handwash too. So far, these are working out great. We have been using them since we got them, and everyone seems to like them. I hope they hold up nicely for a long time! They come out great from the dishwasher, which is a big plus.

    • Taking a Sharp Footed Stance.

Taking a Sharp Footed Stance. I purchased a set of 6 Vancasso 10.5" Pluvo Dinner Plates in vintage light blue. I also purchased the matching set of 6 Pluvo 8.5" salad plates. Over all these were much better quality than the Vancasso Accel black and blue 42 oz. pasta bowls I purchased a couple days before ordering these plates. (see my negative review if they post it) The glaze and condition of the plates were much better than the pasta bowls, but not without flaws. Again some of the plates suffered from runs of the glaze on the underside leading edge of the plates. The biggest problem with these plates were the numerous sharp and rough dry foot issues. The unglazed dry foot of many of these plates, both 8.5" and 10.5" were rough and sharp along the round contact base of the plates. Some of the glaze had chiped on the edge of the unglazed dry foot of the plates. These sharp angular glaze chips will surely scratch tables and counters. Will also snag placemats. Some of the unglazed dry feet are also not smooth. They seem unfinished and not ground / sanded to a smooth finish. Very coars and rough. This will also surely scratch most surfaces they come in contact with. Disappointing to see such lack of care and craftmanship. Where is the quality control? These plates should not have been let out of the factory in this condition. Just a warning to those thinking of purchaing these plates. i do not know if this is the standard quality of this series of plates or if I received a not so common flawed set of dishes. The rough dry foot and the sharp cracked glaze on the edge of the dry foot of the plates could do some serious damage to your kitchen counters of dinning table. Undecided if I want to return all 12 plates or wet sand the sharp glaze and rough dry foot to a smooth finish on some of the plates. Sadly my first and last experince with Vancasso stoneware was not a good one. It's too bad as i liked the design of these plates and bowls. A real inconvenience either way, fixing the issues or returning to Amazon as it now involves a trip to the UPS store to ship them back. Paper plates and foam bowls are looking good at this point. ;) ... show more
