When my wife's 2016 Hyundai reached 100k miles, I noticed the engine was slightly noisier and was consuming a bit of oil between changes. It became apparent that the time to switch to a synthetic blend WAS NOW. I ended up going with this high mileage blend and I'm so glad that I did! My wife and I both notice that the engine is running better and I feel better knowing that this oil will provide much better engine protection, compared to the basic oil we were using. This oil is rated to last a lot longer than the planned oil change intervals, so I feel very confident in using this blend on her Hyundai. We've been using this oil for a few thousand miles so far, and we've noticed that the oil consumption issue isn't happening (yet) and her gas mpg has been slightly better. I used this Valvoline Extended Protection High Mileage 0W-20 synthetic oil in my Mini Cooper, which has around 80,000 miles, and I guess it works! The engine runs smoothly, and I haven’t noticed any leaks or performance issues since the change. It’s designed for high-mileage vehicles, and so far, it seems to be doing its job. The Ultra MaxLife Technology sounds fancy, but what matters is that it keeps things quiet and clean under the hood. For the price and peace of mind, it’s a solid choice—especially if you’re trying to extend the life of an older car. It's also a great price for a trusted brand - but make sure you check how much oil your vehicle needs, because I had to buy an extra quart. I wish it came in a 6-quart size since my car takes 5.5 quarts! ... show more

Good product, it says what it does on the tin. Be aware that the seal on the lid may not be tough enough for shipping to your door, so be careful with what you order with this oil. Mine arrived with about a cup of it spilled out onto the packing material and box. Let's just say, don't order your next Oil Change with your Christmas gifts. If you order it with your oil filter, it may arrive pre-filled for you! ... show more

I bought this oil for use in 2005 Toyota Avalon with about 181K miles. I have been purchasing the Valvoline High Mileage because of it's good price for synthetic oil. I have had problems with oil leaks in the past, but this oil has reduced the issue and oil levels have been holding steady. If you are like me, your vehicle to last as long as possible. I don't like replacing a vehicle until I've done all the reasonable repairs. Here is what happens when engines get more mileage: o Gaskets and seals get worn, dried, or hardened, which increases the chance of oil leaks or seepage. o Internal clearances (between pistons, bearings, etc.) may widen slightly, which can lead to increased oil consumption (burning or blow-by). o Deposits, soot, and sludge accumulate more than in new engines. o The oil’s additive package must work harder (detergents, anti-wear, oxidation inhibitors) to keep things clean and protected. I believe the seal conditioners in this oil are very helpful and have made a difference in my Avalon. ... show more
